This place used to have the best donuts in town. Been going there for 20 years. Today I went in at 7:30 Saturday morning. Nobody was in there, which was unusual. I had not been in there in over a year but remembered how I thought the quality and size of the donuts were not as great as usual last time. This time the donuts looked old and unappealing. Ordered a dozen and paid $23. Crazy expensive, but what isn’t nowadays. Had a few of the donuts at home and none of them had much of any glaze or chocolate on them. My two kids each had one and said they were gross. They eat 3 or 4 each everywhere else. After only 5 hours in the box, the chocolate was already melting and dripping off. Wtf…. Seriously. The quality of this place has gone to the pot. Unfortunately, this is probably why the place was empty. I will not be going back after 20 years of giving them my business. And Mr Kim was there as I spoke to him, and he made these donuts. Not good…

Mr Kim is back (!!!) and Donuts Plus is once again the best donut shop anywhere. When he tried to retire the fellow who took over seemed determined to destroy the business. When I stopped by once it was a very strange and unpleasant experience and of course I never returned. But five months ago Mr Kim returned to salvage what he and his dear wife had worked so hard to create. Now all is well once again. Please help spread the good news.
So glad that Mr Kim came back to make the donuts. Delicious especially the Korean twisted donuts. We missed him and always love his generosity and humor. He is truly a gem in our neighborhood.

I love recommendations. Per a recommendationon the Nextdoor app, I went to Donuts Plus today to check out their donuts. The sign states the days and hours of operation. Tuesdays they are closed. I found the place was closed today, Thursday February1st, although it should be open per their schedule.This was disappointing. There was a phone number I could call and I did. I had hoped this was a fluke. A man answered. I mentioned I passed by and the store was closed. I came all the way from the St Johns area. He interrupted me and said "We're closed Tuesdays and open the rest. We're too busy right now." I tried saying today isn't Tuesday, but he talked over me, repeated his statement and hung up on me. This is no way to do business. It was flat out rude. Just saying.I can't speak of quality of donuts. I wasn't given the opportunity to try them. As to atmosphere, I could see in the glass storefront. This is a place I might only purchase to go. Parking is not a problem here. Maybe there is a language barrier? All I know is that isn't the way you should handle your customers.

The old owner is back and the donuts are as great as ever. Glad to see Mr. Kim back behind the counter making donuts for his beloved customers. My favorite is the chocolate old-fashioned. Good fresh coffee too.
