We love East Glisan! The Detroit style is excellent and we enjoyed the super-thin tavern style! Service is always stellar and the cocktails are super tasty! Kale casserole and taters were also delicious!

This might be the best pizza I have ever had. The dough and sauce are just delicious. The chili oil is super flavorful. The sourdough bread sticks are absolutely wonderful and have such a great after taste. The house ranch is so fresh and homemade. The service was so amazing. The staff ws so attentive and sweet. This is a perfect 10 of 10.

We think it's the BEST Detroit style pizza in Portland. Amazing sauce, breads sticks (extremely delicious), salads (kale ceasar!), drinks - and warm, kind service. It's worth the drive if you're far away. God bless EGP!

I come here for the Detroit style pizza and the quality cocktails. Service is hit and miss, prices are above average but not high. Food is worth it!

Sad to say EGP just isn't as good now that they have reopened. Crust is kinda a weird sour dough thing, sauce isn't the same as it was, can't put my finger on it. Meatballs are definitely different and not great. Service was fantastic. Everyone was very nice but I miss the old days. Still not a bad pie.

Detroit style pizza was very good, loved the crust and the tomato sauce! The owner stopped by our table to chat and was super nice and gave so many cool tips of things to do and places to go in the area!! Definitely recommend checking them out.

I’ve been going to east glisan for years, this is my first time back since they took some time off.
It’s still pretty much the same deliscious pizza with some added menu items. We went with the Caesar salad, pineapple pizza special, and new tavern style crust pepperoni pizza. Caesar was a good portion for 3 people to share as a starter, very garlicky! The classic EGP crust is still phenomenal, probably my favorite in town. I wish the pineapple special was in the marinara sauce but it was still pretty great flavors. I personally enjoyed the tavern crust, very thin like a cracker and similar crisp texture but there also was a doughy quality—pepperonis and marinara so tasty! My friends thought it reminded them of a tortilla pizza, to each their own.
I’m giving 4 stars because I’m sad the chickpea fritters are gone! It also seems like the cocktail list may be shorter but I cant quite remember, the dark and stormy is no longer on it.
Overall still the same great quality pizza I’ve been used to getting in years past, and hopefully years to come!

I’m leaving my original rating from 7 years ago…

BUT, I just visited for the first time after the closure so I could try the new tavern-style pizza. Full disclosure: I’m from the Chicagoland area, but I know to tamper my expectations when eating anything like this outside of the place that does it best.
And, I can also overlook a lot of things, but the pizza we were served was burnt. We were kind of surprised that they felt good about sending something like that out to their customers. (photo attached) I noted to my friend that a true tavern-style pizza shouldn’t have much crust to burn as the cheese and toppings are meant to go all the way to the edge. (Sorry, I’ll get off my soapbox) - We laughed and made a pile of carbon on our plates.
Anyway, the second shock came when we got the bill. $33 for a cracker thin pizza that is basically the equivalent of three regular slices of pizza? 🤯 We were no longer laughing.

Had we been asked by our server, or given the opportunity to give feedback while dining, we would have.

No hard feelings EGPL, but I’ll stick to your Detroit-style in the future. IMO that’s what you do best. But, I love that you’re trying! ❤️

The service here is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and attentive. Loved the atmosphere too. Very chill and I liked the low lighting. I created my own pizza, EG classic crust with vegan mozzarella, vegan pepperoni, mushrooms, and arugula. It was very good and so filling! I have a lot of leftovers to look forward to.
