I’m a regular customer and typically stop by almost every Monday. Katya and Elizabeth consistently provide excellent service they are friendly, welcoming, and they always prepare my sandwich exactly the way I like it. The experience is reliably great when they’re working.
HOWEVER, I recently visited on a Wednesday and had a very disappointing experience. The service was handled by an older man with glasses, and it was unprofessional and rude. I ordered my usual roast beef sandwich (with cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and pickles), along with three peanut butter cookies and two additional sandwiches for friends. I was sitting just outside the window while I waited.
When the order was ready, he handed me the bag abruptly and said, “We’re out of peanut butter… you’ll survive, right?” in a harsh and dismissive tone. I was taken aback not only by the attitude but also by the lack of communication. He could have easily informed me while I was sitting just a few feet away before just assuming I’d be fine with chocolate chip.
To make matters worse, when I got home, I found that my sandwich only had meat, cheese, and mayo, completely missing the other ingredients I ordered. It was incredibly frustrating, especially since I come regularly and usually have such a positive experience.
I will continue coming back because the food and service are usually excellent, but I’ll avoid visiting on days when that particular employee is working.
Also, I hope the online preorder system gets fixed soon, it used to be very convenient.

I’ve come here several times over the last year and I seem to always miss hearing my name called. Once I waited 30+ min and finally approached the window to find a cold sandwich. They need a voice box or something.
The last time I went, I approached the window twice to make sure I hadn’t missed them call my name.
When my sandwich was ready, a woman screamed my name out the window with vengeance and aggressively slammed the sandwich into my hand. So much passive aggressive energy 😳
The sandwich is decent but not worth the hassle of getting it in your hot hands.
I’m sure the job sucks. Promise, I was just trying to avoid getting another cold sammy.
Won’t be back

Ordered for delivery: was craving a sandwich and ordered the toasted Italian. It was just what I was craving. Got a side of the macaroni salad too. Very creamy, a bit much for my liking but good all the same. Will definitely be my go to sandwich shop for delivery.

I’m the type of person that hates all bread and no meat sandwich places. East side Deli is not one of those places. The sandwiches are excellent with loads of toppings. Also the prices are very reasonable
I’ve been searching for the proper Reuben for some time. It’s here, warm and loving like medicine for my soul. Excellent sandwich. I ordered from the kiosk outside and waited for my sandwich to announce its arrival from the window. Well done. Mac salad not shabby either !
So best turkey sandwich ever. Three stars for the very disappointing homemade coleslaw
Coleslaw is suppose to be creamy and this was so bland and tasted like I was just eating lettuce with olive oil. Such a bummer!
What in the heck happened to your sandwiches?? Twice the price and half the actual portions? So disappointed used to go here all the time 4 years ago when I lived closer. Thought to get my usual when I was in the area and blown away at the cost then seeing less then half of what the sandwiches used to be.

Great sandwiches. Hadn’t ever been before and will definitely be back. Lots of offerings.
Ordered an Italian on the Asiago cheese bread, 5 star.
i work nearby, and the deli saves my life at least once a week. i love them. get hot kraut it's beautiful.
You can customize their sandwiches and it's quic and tasty. Wish there was a decent vegan cheese for the vegetarian sandwiches to swap out. Still a good selection of sandwiches that are vegetarian and can easily make vegan. Updated from previous review on 2025-01-11
