Elephants has always been solid in South Portland (which is a food desert)—a little pricey, but good. However, since the refresh, the portions have been irregular—and the quality is hit or miss. Three slices of lettuce on 2 out of 3 fish tacos is rough, 4.5 fries with my burger- yes I counted is offensive - a brown side Caesar salad isn’t just gross it was a waste of my extra $2. Being out of the Thanksgiving bowls the other day made me sad, since that was the reason I came...
I love the people here and the food tastes good. But recent changes are definitely bringing the experience and value down. Sitting at the bar and not being able to order from there feels weird. Now they yell out names instead of giving numbers and bringing it. I ordered a chicken sandwich and added $3.95 for fries…the picture is what you get (I confirmed) for an extra $4! Come on guys.
I love this place! From grab and go’s, to full delicious meals from the grill, this place is great! Delicious coffee too! I’m here frequently for different meetings and everyone I bring in loves it to! The owners and staff have always been wonderful too!
