“Low Tide Lounge has the kind of laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. The empanadas and nachos were delicious, the micheladas were on point—and best of all, the jukebox and pool table are both free.
What more could you want???“

“Empanadas for those that don’t know are filled pockets. They frequently contain meat and sometimes cheese. Located at the Portland Saturday Market right in the middle of it all, PDX empanadas represents strongly the Uruguayan form whereas nearly every Latin American country has their own take in the concept. We have some South American culture in the family, and when we have to satisfy the craving for a taste of home, as locals we go there to eat. Largely we do this because they’re not a chef’s take on they concept, they’re authentic! Because of their authenticity to the Uruguayan culture, they also have Mate (pronounced mah-tay in Spanish) they way I love it, a little sweet, and the most delicious alfajores (a sandwich cookie with dulce de leche in the middle) that honestly we enjoy more than the empanadas. They hard part—they at times sell out of alfajores and mate so be sure to get the most options going on Saturday. Even if you go and they don’t have alfajores and mate you’re still safe as they always have empanadas.“

“Hard to find because there is NOT a signboard saying “Sabor Catracho” but it’s located underneath the dry cleaners. Food is authentic, prices are expensive, the music is loud!!!!!!
Incredibly loud!!!!
I don’t mind the type of religious music 🎶 and listen to it myself but too loud and tragic which is not what I want to listen to while eating. Crying shouting music 🎶 and food don’t mix well.
Asked her to lower the music and don’t notice the difference…
Get to go and be prepared to pay $100“

“Going to Astera is not just going out for dinner: it is a whole different dining experience that goes beyond food and service. Don't get me wrong: the food is amazing and the service is impeccable! But to reduce a dinner at Astera to only this would not do it justice. The atmosphere is carefully crafted, from the lighting to the music, creating a space not only to eat, but to celebrate the art of cooking. Dining here feels less like a meal and more like a journey, one that lingers in your memory long after the last bite.“
