I’ve come to this cart over a dozen times since it has opened, and quality has stayed consistent every time. The $15 order comes with fries, which is a great deal for the amount of food you get. Best smash burger in Portland by far!!This cart is located at Heist, which has a bar and various other food carts if you want to mix and match!

Absolutely 5 stars for two reasons:1. I make a trip to nyc about once a year, and always make a point to stop at a Brooklyn bodega for a chop cheese. Best sandwich on earth and It’s always driven me crazy that I’ve been unable to find something similar here in Portland. And trust me, I’ve tried hard. But that torment changed when I found the chop cheese here at Fresh n Funky. I was shocked when I first tried it, this was the real deal. Next time I stopped by, I came to learn that the chef/owner is from nyc. It started to make sense. Fast forward a couple more times, and I found myself chatting with the owner over a beer, and it turns out he special orders his spices from a small shop in Brooklyn. If that doesn’t tell you enough about the quality of the food here, I don’t know what will.2. If someone suggests splitting the fries, don’t listen to them. Order two. They’re that good.

Such excellent food and great service! The smash burger was incredible and the meatball sub was sublime (and big enough that it ended up being two meals!). The lil' smasher cheeseburgers were also sooooo tasty, but note that there seems to be some spice in the burger patty that kids sensitive to spicy things do not like. Our 5 year old couldn't hang (leftovers for the adults!), but our 7 year old still powered through and ate most of it. ? Highly recommend, will be back again!

The lil smasher is my ideal— exactly what I crave when I’m craving a burger. It’s perfectly greasy and solidly hefty for just lil guy. SO GOOD.
