My friend and I each had bowls (mine with chicken and avocado, hers with carnitas) which were fresh, tasty and generously portioned. My margarita was also a good addition on a hot day. The service was pleasant and the restaurant was charming. Thanks to all the previous Google reviewers who lead me to this wonderful place!
This is not the first time something like this has happened here and it definitely feels like DISCRIMINATION to me.
I came here to pick up an order and was waiting at the sign they set outside to wait for pickups. While I’m waiting three servers make eye contact with me and completely ignore me.
Two of them brush past me and still no acknowledgment. I complain to one of the servers and another female server overhearing our interaction implies that it’s my fault for not going inside and saying “hi” to them.
As she’s saying this to me, someone walks up behind me into the pick up line and is immediately given an enthusiastic greeting and is handed their order.
Updated review: Just wanted to come back and say this place has continued to be as delicious as the first time I tried it. I've been coming back for a couple years now and it never disappoints. The masa y papa torta is my favorite and I crave it!
Previous review: Best tortas I've ever had! This has been one of my favorite places I've been since moving to Portland. Fast, fresh, flavorful and at a great price!
The food here was absolutely delicious! The service was great and loved the atmosphere. The line can be long so expect a little bit of a wait. It is definitely worth it though.
We had a large group celebrating a high school graduate and the service was excellent and the food was great. The waitress joined us with a celebratory attitude. It was a wonderful experience.
Awesome tortas! They use great quality ingredients, the way they prepare their chicken is delicious.
The ahogada torta is my favorite with the delicious carnitas paired with the light spice in the sauce, which makes my mouth water just thinking of it.

Great in every other way, but so noisy and crowded that it was difficult to talk.

Overpriced for basic drink and food. Food was middle of the road at best.
The carnitas and brisket had huge pieces of grizzle in both ruined the meals for more than half of the dinner party. Won't be back for any reason.

Very fresh ingredients and the menu is built to accommodate vegetarian needs. Fast service even when they are busy.
Vegetarian options: The bowl has veggies, dairy, protein and meat is an add on.

Incredibly rude service. Very distinctly different from the place I knew a few years ago. What a travesty. I would like to see more of Oaxaca and Mezcal represented in PDX.

Cool spot with yummy food. Service was great, good options for dietary restrictions. It can get pretty busy so be ok with a wait (but so can any food place in Portland!). Seats are pretty close so if you're worried about social distancing this might not be the spot for you.
