What a bummer, we stopped in because we love Grants (the other location) but this location left us disappointed. The service was attentive and kind but the sandwich tasted like the grill hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, the meat was burnt and it was lacking in cheese. Won't be back to this one, but will continue going out east for tasty cheese steak sandwiches

Stopped by just for a quick bite. Grabbed a bag of fresh made chips. The chips were outstanding. The service was even better. Friendly and fast.

I stopped by to pick up lunch for myself and my husband. I ordered a Grant’s original with onions and peppers. The woman working there was really friendly and helpful and told me to refill my soft drink on my way out the door. I don’t have any photos of the food because we tore into it as soon as we got home. The whole 12”sandwich, cut in half, was super tasty, and more than enough for two people. I enjoy the occasional bite of jalapeño in it! I got the combo and the fries were delicious! Well seasoned, generous and a good combination of the soft ones I love and crispy ones for my husband. I’ll definitely be back if I need to grab lunch in the area.

I have been eating here for a while. It’s one of the better cheesesteaks in Portland. If all you care about is good food, it’s not bad.

But the cost of everything has been increasing too much. It’s $20 for just a cheesesteak, at least $2.75 for a bag of tims, even more expensive for fries then another charge for soda, ranch and anything you can think of. It’s hard to walk away from here spending less that $20 bucks. Cost can frustrating but understandable when they nickel and dime like this.

But I’m not done. Today I was charged a 5%‘homeless tax’ to my order…. Is this even legal????

The shelves are empty and they are only one step away from charging me for napkins.

I loved this place but I can’t in good conscience ever recommend this place again.

Edit: housemade chips, so there’s more value in that. And guess the houseless tax was 1% but I got changed 5% for some reason… lovey.

I also just looked it up to see if this Portland homeless tax is a thing and the first thing that pops up is someone feeling scammed by this same tax… you’ll never guess resultant they were talking about…

Tried to order on a delivery app, order was canceled because they forgot to mark up their prices to account for app fees. Lame.

Great place with authentic rolls, marinara, fries & cheese. Flavors were right on. Service was great - the team fielded my multiple questions with patience & good humor. Got some TastyKakes to go. Hoping that they carry Yuengling in the future. This place delivers a smack-down to all of Portland's tempeh-coated smarminess.

Kid-friendliness: Great food to eat with your hands.

So I've been wanting to try this place for a few years, I always appreciate a good cheesesteak. Well today was the day, had a dentist appt finish at 2:30 and looking for a late lunch....Arrive with 2 ladies working nobody else in the store, both greeted me nicely. Ordered a full to-go and sat down. After 5 min of reading the paper, I noticed nothing on the grill and heard the ladies chatting in the back....hmmmm ok.One comes out and starts working behind the counter...still no grilling....hmmm. Then another 5 min and my cheesesteak was ready, grill was never used and no smell of cooking meat...hmmm. Walking to the car I was really hoping I was mistaken, so when I sat in my car, instead of driving home, I busted it open and tried a bite hoping for the great maillard flavor of meat cooked on the grill.....boooo!As suspected, meat was flavorless but warm (maybe even microwaved?!?!?). I have never had a pre-cooked cheesesteak sandwich in all my years annnnd I don't recommend you try it. So bummed for the rest of the day.On a positive note - bread was good, a proper roll soft and crusty dusted with corn meal....Maybe it was because I came at an off time but paying close to 20 bucks for a flavorless sandwich, common Grant's do better!
