“Enjoyed a chicken karahi taco: The meat was flavorful, and we upgraded to a naan-taco. The chicken was tender, and adding the sauce is a definite must. It added freshness and additional depth of flavor.
Then we get to the beef nihari: we also upgraded this one to a naan-taco and I expected it to be good after enjoying the chicken, but it went far beyond my expectation. The beef was so tender and juicy. Very melt in your mouth. The flavor was complex and I want to go back and grab another 10!“

“Awafi is a great place to get freshly made and delicious Mediterranean / Middle Eastern cuisine on the street in downtown. Menu has lots of choices. Usually I order a falafel wrap and every time it tastes so fresh that it’s a real pleasure to eat. Owner is a great guy and runs a wonderful food cart. Try it … you will be glad that you did!“

I ordered delivery and got a deluxe wrap with grilled chicken and the curly garlic fries and liked the food so much that I got a little obsessed and ordered again the very next night 🫣 Just really wanted to try the lamb after how good the chicken wrap was, and the lamb was even better! Extremely moist and tender while still having great char, and overall really flavorful. These guys obviously care about making good food and it shows. Thank you for a couple delicious meals! “We were downtown for the Starlight Parade with the kids and just happened to stumble upon the Midtown Beer Garden — what a lucky find! Tucked into this awesome little food cart pod in the heart of the city was Small Pharaohs, and let me tell you — it completely blew us away.

From the moment we walked up, the team was warm, welcoming, and super friendly, especially with my kids (which as any parent knows, makes a huge difference). We ordered a mix of plates and wraps — the lamb over rice was packed with flavor, and the chicken shawarma was so juicy and tender my kids devoured it without a second thought. The garlic sauce? Next level.

The vibe at Midtown was fun and family-friendly, with great energy from the festival crowd, and Small Pharaohs stood out not just for the food, but the service. It felt like they genuinely cared that we had a great experience — and we really did.

This was one of those unexpected finds that turns into a new favorite. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in downtown Portland. Highly recommend!“

“So disappointed... That I didn't know about this place sooner!! Last night my husband told me he had NEVER eaten a gyro. I knew I had to correct this immediately. So, I started looking for gyros near me. Now, since he's never tried one, I didn't want him to have a bad first experience that would put him off of them forever since I enjoy them so much. I chose this establishment based on very high google reviews (5 stars) and because it's so close to where we live (5 mins). This place has gone beyond expectations! The food is amazing! Perfect blend of delicious spices and ingredients. HUGE amount of food. It was so delicious that I scarfed it down so fast I got sauce up my nose. I'm so happy that we found this little gem. “I have been coming to Bhai's Halal Meat Market to buy lamb and beef meat for 4+ years.

The customer service is great! Abdul and new recent employees are very friendly, hardworking and knowledgeable! Every time I come into the store, they either are cutting the meat, packaging it or helping customers.
I left my phone number with them as I prefer specific meat cut. They call me when they have fresh meat delivery. I always leave happy as I get the fresh meat!
One time I came into and met the owner of this store and he asked me how do I like the quality of the meat. I told him that I love the quality and the flavor of the meat, especially when it's fresh (I love that it is grassfed and Halal).
I thought it was very important that he asked my feedback. I can tell they really strive for excellence!

The store is very clean and nicely organized. They recently made some changes inside the store as they added shelves which makes it more convenient to find certain items, such as spices etc.

I am so grateful we have this store nearby!

“We’ve never been to a Dave’s Hot Chicken and was traveling through Portland, OR and decided to stop and try the food. Our cashier Leandro F. was AMAZING ! He took the time to answer all our questions and made suggestions which was perfect for us. He then came by our table to make sure we had everything we needed. Great service !! Love the vibe in here, totally casual but clean, the food was tasty but for sure Leandro was the highlight. Way to hire such good folks to represent your Brand. Thanks ! See you next time !

“I went out at 2:20 in the morning to get something to eat. I did not expect to eat one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at that price range. The store owner was very nice and gave me a few recommendations for what to eat and he made an excellent choice because the food was amazing. The environment around the outside of the store was a little rough but that was not the store owners fault and shouldn’t take away from the quality of the food. Overall a great place to eat, would recommend for a night munch.“

“Amazing food and great service! We got the beef wrap and the chicken wrap, and both were fresh, flavorful, and grilled perfectly. The wraps were filling and crispy, and the portions were generous.

The fries were also excellent, hot, crispy, and loaded with sauce. Definitely a must try.

Shoutout to Saif, who was super nice and friendly. He made the whole experience even better with his positive attitude and great customer service.

“The highest quality restaurant available at the Washington Square Mall food court. They have a pretty extensive menu of different Indian foods, including a lot of options available to eat right after purchase as well as items that they make fresh after you order. They offer different types of meats and sauces, and all that I've tried so far have great flavor. Their butter chicken is definitely a favorite from a lot of people who order. It is a pricier option than other restaurants around it, but not by much, and well worth it. Service is really nice and the employees take the time to remember you if you're a repeat customer. Whether you're a first time customer or you've been there before, you can easily tell that they love the food they make for you. Definitely recommended.“
