“We were downtown for the Starlight Parade with the kids and just happened to stumble upon the Midtown Beer Garden — what a lucky find! Tucked into this awesome little food cart pod in the heart of the city was Small Pharaohs, and let me tell you — it completely blew us away.

From the moment we walked up, the team was warm, welcoming, and super friendly, especially with my kids (which as any parent knows, makes a huge difference). We ordered a mix of plates and wraps — the lamb over rice was packed with flavor, and the chicken shawarma was so juicy and tender my kids devoured it without a second thought. The garlic sauce? Next level.

The vibe at Midtown was fun and family-friendly, with great energy from the festival crowd, and Small Pharaohs stood out not just for the food, but the service. It felt like they genuinely cared that we had a great experience — and we really did.

This was one of those unexpected finds that turns into a new favorite. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in downtown Portland. Highly recommend!“

“So disappointed... That I didn't know about this place sooner!! Last night my husband told me he had NEVER eaten a gyro. I knew I had to correct this immediately. So, I started looking for gyros near me. Now, since he's never tried one, I didn't want him to have a bad first experience that would put him off of them forever since I enjoy them so much. I chose this establishment based on very high google reviews (5 stars) and because it's so close to where we live (5 mins). This place has gone beyond expectations! The food is amazing! Perfect blend of delicious spices and ingredients. HUGE amount of food. It was so delicious that I scarfed it down so fast I got sauce up my nose. I'm so happy that we found this little gem. “I have been driving by this place nearly every day for quite awhile now but never stopped because I just wasn't sure. Today I got a flat and was next door at Les Schwab when I decided it was time. I am so glad I did! Goodness! This chicken is so good! Flakes and tasty. They have several degrees of flavor for any pallet. I had 2 sliders, which are only slightly smaller than a full size burger, one mild and one medium with Mac n cheese. So delicious! I will definitely be back!“

I recently visited Bhai’s Halal Meat Market and was thoroughly impressed! The meat was incredibly fresh, well-cut, and fairly priced. The store was spotless, and the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and happy to help with custom cuts or cooking tips.

They also carry a great range of spices and essentials, making it a one-stop shop. It’s clear they care about quality and community — I left with everything I needed and a big smile.

“I went out at 2:20 in the morning to get something to eat. I did not expect to eat one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at that price range. The store owner was very nice and gave me a few recommendations for what to eat and he made an excellent choice because the food was amazing. The environment around the outside of the store was a little rough but that was not the store owners fault and shouldn’t take away from the quality of the food. Overall a great place to eat, would recommend for a night munch.“

The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The service was outstanding too — friendly, quick, and welcoming. Even though it’s a food truck, the setup and vibe made it feel like a great place to enjoy a relaxed lunch.

“One of my favorites in Metro area since I moved here. Very professional and friendly people. I really do like their foods. Had a great experience ! They have delicious gyros (I love their lamb gyro). The tabouli is amazing as well! Also they have delicious Hummus that I love. If you want to try the Mediterranean food such as gyro , felafel, hummus, and other stuff, do not miss this place!“

“The highest quality restaurant available at the Washington Square Mall food court. They have a pretty extensive menu of different Indian foods, including a lot of options available to eat right after purchase as well as items that they make fresh after you order. They offer different types of meats and sauces, and all that I've tried so far have great flavor. Their butter chicken is definitely a favorite from a lot of people who order. It is a pricier option than other restaurants around it, but not by much, and well worth it. Service is really nice and the employees take the time to remember you if you're a repeat customer. Whether you're a first time customer or you've been there before, you can easily tell that they love the food they make for you. Definitely recommended.“
