“We were downtown for the Starlight Parade with the kids and just happened to stumble upon the Midtown Beer Garden — what a lucky find! Tucked into this awesome little food cart pod in the heart of the city was Small Pharaohs, and let me tell you — it completely blew us away.

From the moment we walked up, the team was warm, welcoming, and super friendly, especially with my kids (which as any parent knows, makes a huge difference). We ordered a mix of plates and wraps — the lamb over rice was packed with flavor, and the chicken shawarma was so juicy and tender my kids devoured it without a second thought. The garlic sauce? Next level.

The vibe at Midtown was fun and family-friendly, with great energy from the festival crowd, and Small Pharaohs stood out not just for the food, but the service. It felt like they genuinely cared that we had a great experience — and we really did.

This was one of those unexpected finds that turns into a new favorite. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in downtown Portland. Highly recommend!“

“So disappointed... That I didn't know about this place sooner!! Last night my husband told me he had NEVER eaten a gyro. I knew I had to correct this immediately. So, I started looking for gyros near me. Now, since he's never tried one, I didn't want him to have a bad first experience that would put him off of them forever since I enjoy them so much. I chose this establishment based on very high google reviews (5 stars) and because it's so close to where we live (5 mins). This place has gone beyond expectations! The food is amazing! Perfect blend of delicious spices and ingredients. HUGE amount of food. It was so delicious that I scarfed it down so fast I got sauce up my nose. I'm so happy that we found this little gem. We will be eating here regularly from now on. Thank you, Gyro Grill Kabob!!! ❣️“

“I have been driving by this place nearly every day for quite awhile now but never stopped because I just wasn't sure. Today I got a flat and was next door at Les Schwab when I decided it was time. I am so glad I did! Goodness! This chicken is so good! Flakes and tasty. They have several degrees of flavor for any pallet. I had 2 sliders, which are only slightly smaller than a full size burger, one mild and one medium with Mac n cheese. So delicious! I will definitely be back!“

“I have been coming to Bhai's Halal Meat Market to buy lamb and beef meat for 4+ years.

The customer service is great! Abdul and new recent employees are very friendly, hardworking and knowledgeable! Every time I come into the store, they either are cutting the meat, packaging it or helping customers.
I left my phone number with them as I prefer specific meat cut. They call me when they have fresh meat delivery. I always leave happy as I get the fresh meat!
One time I came into and met the owner of this store and he asked me how do I like the quality of the meat. I told him that I love the quality and the flavor of the meat, especially when it's fresh (I love that it is grassfed and Halal).
I thought it was very important that he asked my feedback. I can tell they really strive for excellence!

The store is very clean and nicely organized. They recently made some changes inside the store as they added shelves which makes it more convenient to find certain items, such as spices etc.

I am so grateful we have this store nearby!

“I went out at 2:20 in the morning to get something to eat. I did not expect to eat one of the best meals I’ve had in a while at that price range. The store owner was very nice and gave me a few recommendations for what to eat and he made an excellent choice because the food was amazing. The environment around the outside of the store was a little rough but that was not the store owners fault and shouldn’t take away from the quality of the food. Overall a great place to eat, would recommend for a night munch.“

The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can really taste the quality in every bite. The service was outstanding too — friendly, quick, and welcoming. Even though it’s a food truck, the setup and vibe made it feel like a great place to enjoy a relaxed lunch.

I stopped by for lunch and was genuinely impressed. Definitely a must-try if you’re into Mediterranean or halal food. Great value for the price as well — highly recommended!“

“One of my favorites in Metro area since I moved here. Very professional and friendly people. I really do like their foods. Had a great experience ! They have delicious gyros (I love their lamb gyro). The tabouli is amazing as well! Also they have delicious Hummus that I love. “The highest quality restaurant available at the Washington Square Mall food court. They have a pretty extensive menu of different Indian foods, including a lot of options available to eat right after purchase as well as items that they make fresh after you order. They offer different types of meats and sauces, and all that I've tried so far have great flavor. Their butter chicken is definitely a favorite from a lot of people who order. It is a pricier option than other restaurants around it, but not by much, and well worth it. Service is really nice and the employees take the time to remember you if you're a repeat customer. Whether you're a first time customer or you've been there before, you can easily tell that they love the food they make for you. Definitely recommended.“
