Handel's Homemade Ice Cream

Handel’s is as sweet as it gets in Portland.
They offer a wide variety of flavors and cone options, and they don’t hold back on the scoops—each one is generously packed. The ice cream itself is incredibly soft and creamy.

There’s plenty of parking, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

I’m an Ohio transplant and grew up on Handel’s extremely close to where it was created and I was so surprised to see it out here when I moved and to learn how much it’s grown?? Anyway it’s just as amazing as I remember and I had such fun introducing it to my kids. Though I miss the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle in its original form 🥲

Amazing as always. Anytime we see a location while traveling we have to go.

Ice cream is great. Customer service is horrible. The people working seem inconvenienced by you. No good outdoor seating (just a couple benches). No indoor seating at all. Bad ambiance.

We stopped by this ice cream shop on a warm afternoon and had a great experience overall. The ice cream itself was definitely the highlight, creamy, rich in flavor, and with a wide variety to choose from. My son was especially happy, really loved the oreo and cotton candy flavors and couldn’t stop smiling the entire time.

The shop was clean and well-kept, and everything felt fresh and inviting. If I had to nitpick, I’d say the staff could’ve been a bit friendlier. They weren’t rude by any means, just not very warm or engaging.

But will definitely come back and try their other flavors.

Its a decent local ice cream shop. There are mostly classic flavors. You can get milkshakes, an ice cream flight and sundaes. You can also get pints too. They give generous scoops. There isnt any seating so you must take your ice cream to go.

Oh wow! This place is by far one of our must go places each month as it’s that good and we live about 45 minutes away! Great service and the selection of ice cream is second to none!

Hands down one of the best creamy ice cream near the portland area! The only down side so you can only pick two flavors to try when there's so many. Generous scoops for one serving. Will be back!
