A neighborhood treasure that’s worth the drive. We started hitting Haru after Tai Chi lessons at the Wu Shu center, and were blown away by the fresh, delicious food and great, friendly service. We’re both vegan, so we’re useless when it comes to reviewing the actual sushi, but I can say the garden roll and cucumber rolls are great and they seem to do a very brisk takeout business. The Yaki udon, with the big fat noodles, is amazing. Add in some edamame and a cup of miso soup and it’s a full and tasty meal for two, all for well under $40.

Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.

Parking: Small off-street lot.

This is a great cook/roll to order sushi place. The food is great, I've been here multiple times and I've had most of their rolls. My favorite is always shrimp tempura. They are very welcoming and nice. And it's really clean and definitely somewhere you could take a date.

This place is AMAZING! My wife is a huge eel fan and this was some of the best eel we’ve ever had! The plating was gorgeous and everything was delicious. There was real fruit (cut into little cubes!) in the strawberry and mango lemonades! Service was very attentive and lovely and the facilities are beautiful. Great atmosphere, wonderful service, and the best sushi I’ve ever had!

We tried their calamari, spicy tuna hand roll, crispy tuna sushi. We liked all of the items.

Thoroughly impressed with this spot. Very high quality sushi for great prices. Wasn’t too busy on a Saturday night so we got very quick service and all the sushi came out within 8 minutes of ordering. Will absolutely be retuning.

My friends and I came here based on how affordable the meals were but we were blown away by the class and quality of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely bringing more people.

My partner and I went out to lunch looking for a good sushi joint. Great atmosphere & service! Amazing food and the icing on the cake is the prices! We'll be back for any future sushi cravings ?

It was a party in my mouth so incredibly happy with everything they served and the food was not only delightful but the artistic cutting of the vegetables was incredibly beautiful.

It's... fine. Parking around the area is super limited and the few nearby spots are reserved by other businesses so be on the lookout for street parking as you get near. No convenient public transit nearby to take instead of driving.Menu is quite limited but what's there is good. Very few drink options and the ones that are there are... Meh. Service is... fine. Relatively efficient; nothing to complain about but nothing outstanding.Interior decor is not coherent. One of the walls has a neat wine-wall setup that suggests an evening-out type of establishment that is completely ruined by daylight 6500K bulbs that give everything a cheap gas station vibe. The wall is for show, as I said the drink options are very few.Ultimately, there is something comforting about a local sushi and ramen shop that is a neighborhood staple but the place doesn't seem to know if it wants to be a fancy-pants date night destination or a cozy neighborhood stop. 3/5, nothing to be excited about, not planning on coming back anytime soon.

Parking: Parking is super limited.

Going in with no expectations and was seriously blown away with flavor. Having lived in both Japan and South Korea, I cannot tell you how much the tastes and textures made me feel transported back to those places and times. Haru has some of the best ramen I've had in Portland (and I've eaten A Lot of PDX ramen), and their K-Style omelette was 100% delicious (total nostalgia ?). I can't wait to try their sushi too. Haru, you are now our go-to NW PDX spot for the foreseeable forever.Photo Note: I only thought to snag an image afterwards ?? And totally worth taking home. The ramen made a great midnight snack.

Vegetarian options: Good choices for non-meat eaters.

Parking: Two off street spots available with more opening after 5pm.

Lunch at this restaurant on a Saturday was not too crowded and it was easy to park nearby on the street. The sushi was fresh and we could watch the sushi chefs preparing the meal behind the counter. Service was friendly and attentive even though there was only one server. I recommend trying this out if you are in the area.

This is one of our favorites. Large tables. Spacial seating and comfortable. Service is very friendly and the quality is solid. Pricing is on par for table service in NW portland. I think it's standard. It's a go to for this neighborhood when in the mood for Sushi or Poke...Ramen, etc.

Excellent quality sushi at reasonable prices. I'm so happy to have a new go-to sushi place walking distance from my house. Highly recommended. Great food and friendly staff.

We’ve been here twice now and had incredible experiences both times. Our favorites so far have been the salmon and tuna nigiri. I’ve loved all the rolls we’ve tried too. The fish is very fresh and prepared well. Really friendly staff as well! We’ll be coming back regularly!
