Great food. Chicken was perfect. Sauces were nice, pickled veggies were delish. Keep in mind, no spice here, but still great.
Restaurant was clean.

Only issue was with service. Gal who took our order could not have been more stereotypical Portland Gen Z.
Very snotty and unpleasant.
We did arrive 35 min before close, but holy cow, not a nice experience. The indifference, attempts to get us to leave, the eye rolls, storm off after taking our order and general dripping contemp, my heavens. I mean, we ordered drinks AND tipped on counter service.

I would definitely consider coming back, but if I saw that gal though the window, I would run.

Cool experience otherwise and the chefs and back area lady were super nice and attentive.

So, maybe don't let one bad chicken wing soil the half fried chicken.

Vegetarian options: Roti, sticky rice and sauce are yummy.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten free things are great.

Parking: Portland parking, good luck.

Kid-friendliness: Not really the best place for kids IMO.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, but plan ahead. Could be tight.

Small space packs a huge flavor punch. Just wow! Great food, great drinks. Wish it was ok to lick my bowl.

Loved this spot! Super unique menu with a cool interior and great staff. I loved that the place let us bring wine in for a $10 corking fee. We got the Hat Yai for 2 and brussels and it was super yummy. Chicken was a tad bit overcooked and that's the only reason I'll give a 4. Flavors were great and we only spent $60 for a big meal for two. Loved the curry. Lovely experience!

Hat Yai was a fantastic lunch stop during our trip to Portland. We got the Hat Yai fried chicken with roti and curry, and it did not disappoint. The fried chicken was superb—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. The curry, though on the sweeter side, was rich and delicious, pairing perfectly with the roti. Overall, a great spot for some flavorful, comforting Thai food!

Popped in for a quick bite to eat. Our orders came fast and were delicious. The braised pork belly was phenomenal.

Everything on this menu is a must try! Oxtail soul along with the pad thai will keep you coming back regularly. The atmosphere reminds me of restaurants back in manhattan, cozy and effectively spaced. I’m already thinking of my next trip!

Thailand meets Portland, and the fusion is flawless and comforting.
Being a southern girl I never played about my fried chicken but this spot didn’t disappoint.
The chicken was Golden, succulent and perfectly spiced.
The curry velvety and rich begging to be scooped up with buttery roti bread. Don't forget the sticky rice.
Fresh, vibrant, flavorful every time.

They never miss. Go taste for yourself.

Brought my family to try for the first time. The food smelled amazing as we walked through the door. That’s probably the reason we didn’t just turn around and walk out. We received really poor customer service from start to finish. We were never greeted which was awkward because there was a waitress standing next to us at the register. We sat ourselves and that was the vibe the entire meal- be ignored! Food was good and different. we won’t be back. The waitress was terrible.
