My third dinner here over 13 years. The first was so good I always try to get here when i'm in Portland. Food, cocktails, wine list, and service are superb. The decor provides great atmosphere. The crab stuffed salmon is absolutely amazing. Easy walking distance from many downtown hotels.
All of our four dinners were excellent and the desserts were off-the-charts excellent. But our server was the best part of the evening. What a great sense of humor (he has worked there for twenty years) and accommodating. This is the reason that Jake's Crawfish is my go-to place.
Excellent service from Danny. One of the best Crab Louie's I've had. We sat in the back of the restaurant which I've not done before and it was lovely. Quiet and private but still part of the Jake's vibe.
Delicious Easter lunch! Fabulous food, company, and service. We all enjoyed our meal and look forward to our next visit :)
Food was not great at all . Rice was old and clear . The crab dish came with very little crab for 56$.
Ordered steelhead with baby shrimp, and was excited to try it. Received swordfish with jalapeño salsa that was way too spicy for me. Sent it back with the waiter and settled for a prawn cocktail, so I didn't have to wait for a cooked meal. Everyone else already received hot food. Not great for a nice dinner out, & not much was done to compensate for the mistake. I wasn't charged for the hot meal, but I never actually received what I ordered. They should have comped me a meal or a dessert. We visit Jake's several times a year, & this was a huge disappointment.
Great service excellent food! One of our favorite restaurants to visit when we are in town!!

Jake's is always great food. Parking can be tricky now that 12th is blocked off, and I think that valet parking went bye-bye as well. At least we looked around for it and couldn't find it anywhere. Can be a little tough if you have a physical disability like I do. But the waiter was nice, and our food came out timely and cooked to perfection. I will try to add some food photos soon to this review.
Kid-friendliness: Probably not a good choice for kids.. at least not for dinner. There was no kids when I was there for dinner and it was a packed restaurant.
Wheelchair accessibility: They did have a ramp at the front door entrance.

Jake's Famous Crawfish had been highly recommended by the hotel staff and despite the rave reviews found on Google, this wasn't an option high on my list. We were told that Portland's seafood is caught fresh and given the salmon season, I decided to make Jake's my final meal in the city. I ordered the stuffed salmon, even though I was initially leaning towards the etoufee. The dish wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything spectacular either, and would honestly say the same for the service - it just felt like they were going through the motions. It lacked the personality and interaction expected from a non-fast food establishment.
The mashed potatoes were good, but 1 dimensional. The cheese sauce overpowered the mild sweetness of the crab and shrimp, and although seafood is typically a lighter protein, I found it to be a bit heavy in my opinion. I didn't understand the shaved carrots in the dish. They were there but not enough to justify its presence in the dish.

I imagine the reason Jake's Famous Crawfish has been around for over 100 years, is that they consistantly provide great service, a great atmosphere, and great food. Our waiter sold me on getting the crab stuffed salmon, and I've raved about that stuffed salmon every since! I had plenty of options for good wines by the glass, and I finished the meal off with maybe the best Key Lime Pie I've ever had. I have nothing but praise for Jake's, and they were a highlight during my Portland visit!

Came here first night into town for a date night. The restaurant had a good vibe inside and service was great. I just didn’t think the food was anything spectacular and having a menu that lists fresh fish would have been great. Would still come back and recommend as a good spot
