Always amazing. Service was attentive but not pushy. We came in the late afternoon and were able to order off the lunch or dinner menu. I can't wait to come back!
We made reservations on the fly, and little on the late side. The food is amazing & we love the ambiance. It's old school charm. Definitely recommend!
Tyra was great waitstaff. Food was good but not exceptional. Both orders of steelhead trout were overdone.
As usual, the food was delicious. The service was a bit slow initially, but then picked up, and was very helpful, especially to the GF member of the group. We were celebrating a 90th birthday, and my MIL feted with a complimentary dessert. Everyone had a great time.
Soulless food with average quality. Definitely not one of the top 10 seafood restaurants in the country.
Jakes has always been one of my favorite restaurants but tonight it was surprisingly bad due to poor service. i was surprised as I have been coming here for 45 years. After we were seating no one came to welcome us or give us water for over 10 min. Staff walking by us constantly, never a smile or acknowledgement. Our waitress ( no idea of name as she never introduced herself ) was bad and not the caliber of waitstaff we have come to love at Jakes. she does not have the hospitality personality required for the job. Food good; kids very loud in a nice restaurant which did not feel like a fine dining restaurant, more like a coffee shop
In town on business for a quick overnight trip... asked where the best places to go for seafood and this was recommended. Found out it really is “famous”... I normally avoid the tourist ‘hyped' places, but with no obvious alternative local favorite decided to give it a try. wasn't disappointed at all! good food, solid service
We always love our time at Jake's. The food was delicious....cannot go wrong with cedar plank salmon cooked to perfection!
Jakes was wonderful. Great ambience good food and our waiter Brandon was attentive and really helpful with our choice of wine and main dishes. We both had the Steelhead prepared in two different ways. Both good but I would like to order it just grilled with lemon on the side. I was cooked perfectly.
Jake's was recommended to us by our hotel. The food was quite good, but the service left something to be desired. Our waiter didn't seed very attentive, and took quite a while to take our order and we had quite a wait for our food. Other tables around us, with different servers, seemed to get much better service, so maybe we were just unlucky. The food was good enough that I would probably give it another try if we were in Portland again, and hope that the service we experienced was just an aberration.

Happy with Crab and Artichoke Dip. Very happy with Flet Minjon and Lobster. Not happy with Crab stuffed Halibut.. brei threw if off, and it smelled and tasted fishy. Great service . Would return.
My food was fresh and hot. Service was friendly and attentive. Dessert was fine but the choices seemed to be similar to the standard desserts offered by any other more refined dining establishments.
We made a reservation at Jake’s Famous Crawfish and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere had a bit of an Italian feel, warm and inviting, with options for both indoor and outdoor dining. I ordered the Famous Étouffée and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and comforting. Drinks were excellent, and with street parking nearby, the whole evening felt easy and enjoyable.”

After many years away from Oregon, it was our great pleasure to eat at Jake’s once again. Our server, Anthony, provided very efficient and personable service. Our cocktails were perfectly made, and our crab/shrimp cakes and wild caught Columbia River salmon grilled on a cedar plank were delicious. The restaurant’s old paintings, stained glass, oyster plates in frames, original woodwork, and classic songs sung by Ella, Dean Martin, and other greats added to our experience. Parking at the very nearby and safe Indigo was very reasonably priced.
