THE GOOD: As others have mentioned, the primary reason to stay here would be if you were planning to catch a show in the Crytal Ballroom. Location seems lively as well. THE NOT SO GOOD: The hotel is old, smells like a mix of wood stove/urine/weed, has loud music that you can hear up to the top floor, tiny rooms, and mostly shared bathrooms. The hotel and the neighborhood has a pleasant up beat vibe. All the rooms are individually and imaginatively decorated. We had a King room with private bathroom, but be aware that most rooms share bathrooms. Ours, the "cocoon too" was on the corner of the 4th floor and commanded splendid views of three streets. The staff were all helpful, friendly, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I mixed up my booking, and they offered to fix it instead of turning me away. Saved my anniversary! Rooms are clean, and shared bathrooms are huge and very private. Never had to wait.
