“I like the selection variety for the food. We came after a big catering order, so the food took a bit of time, but that's fine. From my point of view, it did also seem like there was some possible communication issues between front and back of house. As a cook, it isn't too wild to see that. Outside of that, thr atmosphere is cool. Games are made available to play if you came with a small group, so that's pretty cool.

In total I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches with fries [one regular, one garlic parm], and an order of cheese curds. The cheese curds were a little luke warm, but honestly, they were still damn good. The batter on them is really nice.

The chicken sandwiches are huge. That's a great bonus. Could do with a little more of the housemade sauce on top, but I'm a sauce fiend, so that could be personal preference and not everyone is the same. Also, a note, the buns are good! They dont disintegrate upon first bite and stay together throughout the whole sandwich.

The regular fries are goofld! Crispy, and not too thick and not too thin. The garlic parm fries though? I think I expected the normal finely shredded parmesan or grated parmesan. Instead it was shaved parmesan. So it didnt really melt or try to melt and just was something to kind of push aside or hope it stuck to a fry. Also it was kinda just garlic powder. I feel the fries could do with a bit of a lot more salt.

All in all, in a world of gluten, this place is a good beacon to a gluten free person craving some good fried chicken sandwich/ cheese curds.“

“If you want to have a delightful Portland experience this is a great place to go! The Spanish Coffee is the best you will ever have and today our bartender was so friendly, so accommodating, so delightful it made our visit perfect. This place has a very European feel to it. It is quaint and bijou. You feel like you're sitting in a cafe in Paris. The food was mmmmm delicious and delectable. It's a fantastic must visit at least once.“

“The gluten free food here is some of the best I've ever had. You'd never guess it's gluten free. The fried chicken is crunchy, moist as you bite into it and flavorful. Even better are the fish and chips. If you have celiacs and want to eat food you've not had in years this is the place. The beers are gluten free and delicious.“

“What a cool way to see a movie. Beautiful old 20s theater with rocking plush seats. Good food selection onsite with bistro and in seat service in the balcony. Get here early to grab a balcony seat with a table top. Highly recommend this place. Parking is a hot mess like everywhere in Portland but worth it to see a movie here.“

It was easy to follow the things that he said and we were able to sample the Sumatra and Kenya blends. I Love That Mcmenamins makes the extra effort to make sure they are working with fair trade brands and no chemicals. Its so cool to learn about the ends and outs of roasting the beans and the formulas they have to follow. I had no idea all that went into making an awesome cup of coffee.“

“We just happened a pond McMenamin‘s blue moon TAVERN and Grille. We have spent the few hours at the Rose Garden and just needed lunch. We sat by a open window. We were waiting on quickly. “We went here to watch the Netherlands/Japan World Cup game (6/14) and it ended up being fantastic! We initially tried going to Gol PDX but they were at capacity & sent us here. And good thing! The vibe was super chill and exactly what we were looking for! However, our wee bartender/server wasn’t informed that Gol was sending people here( which Gol should’ve given them a heads up) and although an onslaught occurred, she absolutely crushed it, single-handedly! The bar went from dead to slammed in a matter of 5 min and she did amazing! She continued to check in on us even when the place was slammed and she was so incredibly nice. I failed to ask her name, and regret it lol. Whoever she is, she absolutely deserves a raise!!!“

“On my quest to complete my McMenamins passport, I have visited many McMenamins locations. Somehow I forget how awesome this location is... It feels like I tucked away little hidden gem, much larger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Filled with light and plants, it's a spacious area that can accommodate any size of group. They are also one of the only McMenamins that has their epic club sandwich. Highly recommend.“

“Wandered in for a beverage and was blown away. I’m a selective beer drinker and found a Cascadian Pale Ale (5.4%) that was delightful AND three of my favorite cocktails to choose from… Paper Plane, Margarita, Moscow Mule, etc. Delightful! We were just here for a beverage but the smells lured us in. Though the artichoke salad that passed by looked phenomenal — honestly, who made this menu??— we went with the cheesesticks.

I know. Basic, right? NO. From the first bite I knew it was going to be bomb. Garlicy, a little charred, oh my. It was so good we walked back and skipped Baerlic for seconds here. Can’t recommend enough. Guys behind the bar were super chill, very welcoming to these Nashvillians. We watched some World Cup and enjoyed a beautiful day in Portland. Get you some. 👌“

“McMenamins Chapel Pub is such a gem! I ordered the Communications Breakdown sub with the Beyond Meat veggie patty and it was excellent. They make their own sauces and you can really taste the freshness—everything came together perfectly. The fries were crispy and flavorful, and the portion was generous for the price.

The ambiance is fantastic—relaxed, warm, and just very “McMenamins” in the best way. The staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Overall, a great meal, great atmosphere, and great value. I’ll definitely be back!“
