“Rose City Book Pub hosted us for a show and they were amazing. The staff worked SO hard to take care of us, especially since they weren’t expecting a huge group of wizard rockers to descend upon their establishment. What a cool venue, and so welcoming. Thank you thank you thank you!“

“I'm probably going to butcher the spelling of his name but I think it's Gill. Everyone, we like Gill. You like Gill. Such a solid guy to have manning the fort. Great drinks, he kept pointing me in the right direction for everything that I tried, such a cool spot as well. See video.“
“We enjoyed this more than our stay at the Grand Lodge. We thought it had a slightly less haunted vibe here. The en suite bathroom was a major plus. The English Wing was very quiet, but we were there on a Monday night. We loved the Boiler Room for a late bite to eat, and a morning visit to the soaking pool before it opened to the public (it might be more “drinky” at night, which isn’t our thing). It’s cool to know that a hotel stay includes a movie in the theater if we plan better for that next time. The nitro cold brew from a keg in the gift shop was an unexpected treat. Please bring that to more McMenamins locations!“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Prost! is hands down one of my favorite spots in Portland. It’s my go-to place for casual work meetings or when I want to relax with friends. The atmosphere is perfect—laid-back, cool, and welcoming. The service is always great, and the food carts have everything you could possibly want, with an awesome variety of food and drinks. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a great drink, Prost! has you covered. It’s been a staple in the neighborhood for years, and it never disappoints!“

“Love McMenamins, they have consistently good food, music, low lighting, beautiful art, lovely places, all of them.
However, this particular location has an issue with their service. At times, you'll be forgotten about or outright ignored while the servers chat it up with each other at the bar. They OFTEN just stand around talking to each other for long stretches.
It's fine to socialize at work in this type of environment, sure, not opposed to that. But when I'm sitting waiting for 15 mins and no one approaches to take my order or serve me water, all while laughing and talking about their pets at the bar, it reflects very poorly.“

“Been here a number of times and it's always solid. Beer selection is reliably good, not too expensive and you're not forced to choose from shades of IPA. I was really impressed by the veggie burger, which didn't have the dryness or graininess you get with a lot of veggie patties (the cheddar maybe did a lot of the work here, but doesn't it always?). I also accidentally had a couple bites of the fried chicken sandwich and it deserves whatever accolades people are giving it.
Vegetarian options: Their veggie burger (not imitation meat patty) is great, and available as vegan“

“We were excited to hear that The Wooden Chicken had reopened under new ownership. We visited to watch the Oregon State U versus UofO football game. We had an excellent view of several TVs and service checked on us regularly to make sure we were okay, And I really enjoyed my grilled chicken sandwich. They even made my ranch water (Tequila, soda water, and muddled lime) perfectly. It seems like people don't know that they reopened. This place is definitely on our list of places to watch sports.“

“Great service and good vibes. Food is generally pretty good but since they opened the second location the pizza is somewhat inconsistent (overcooked cheese). Tasty sandwiches. Beer is great. Good for kids.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs, kids dishes, small cups, friendly waitstaff.“

“Missed brunch at the hotel. They sent us to Concordia. The cook was running late so we sat on the sunny stoop and waiting till they arrived. The bartender set us up with a couple morning beverages on the house while we waited. When the cook(s) arrived our order was taken and was brought out quite quickly. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly to my likeing and the lite cheese and dairy on the side breakfast burrito came as it was ordered. I took a bite of it and it was tasty.“

“It's always a fun night at a McMenamins historic hotel. We lucked out to not have music to contend with that evening, so it was nice and quiet. Check-in was easy, we arrived about 30 minutes before closing time but were still able to get some food ordered to take upstairs. The toilet closets were clean and centrally located, the showers were also clean but my one complaint is that there's no shelf or end table to set your clean clothes on while you're bathing. There weren't robes and I'm not one to risk running down a public hallway in a small towel so I hoped the floor was as clean as it appeared.
There isn't much privacy, you can see people pass your room in the hall and the fan in the toilet gives a false sense of background noise lol. I can imagine with music playing it would be hard to sleep. It seemed there were maybe only 2 or 3 other occupied rooms so there weren't fights for the facilities on a weeknight. Checkout with the key-drop upstairs and on the way!“

“Service = phenomenal ? ?
Food = didn't eat
Vibe = fun , nicely lit , good ambiance, cool scenery
Beer = lots of beers that taste like they are basement brewed. And a few that are good enough to order a tall of. But only a couple. Michigan breweries are by far superior, but I ain't hating on Deschutes. I'd still order up a round“

“Hello, Bear Paw? I'll take a burger and fries. Be there in twenty minutes.I used to get these calls ALL the time, at my first apartment, almost 40 years ago. My phone number was SO close to theirs. I forgot about it until I just read a news article about them.I cannot believe they are still around so I wondered, is that the same Bear Paw on Milwaukie ave? Sure enough!I didn't get around to checking it out for myself until my thirties, but yeah, the food is not bad. Service was great. Fun people there. It was a good place to hang out with friends and have some drinks if you are into that sort of thing. So check them out, you might like it. But carpool. If I remember, the only thing I didn't like is that the parking was awful.“

“Lucky Labrador is very friendly to board game players - the tables are large, the food and beverages are good, and there is plenty of room to play whatever your game.“
“A cute little dive bar. It was far from crowded, not many people when I checked it out. Mostly people hanging out on the slot machines, or shooting pool on the only table they had. Majority of the people were a young group of regulars, but a few older folks as well. The bartender was very sweet. ?“

“Had so much fun visiting this little bar. We are from Arizona and didn't realize everything closed so early during the week. So we stopped later in the night. I wish I got the ladies name who helped us because she was wonderful. She made a delicious old fashion. They had really good food and drinks.
Parking: You use the kitty parking app“

“I love this place- people are so nice, and there's just a relaxed atmosphere. I don't go to bars much, however I look forward to going to this place. There's an outside terrace party area with heaters...Just love it!!!
Parking: Parking is on street- not hard to find a place...but you'll have to use side streets...but I've never had any problems!“
“Everything is great except for one of the male bartenders.“
“I really need to apologize to the person that I criticized for having 80s shoulder pads tonight, I’m just jealous I grew up with linebacker shoulders (but couldn’t ever play football)- I can’t pull off that jacket. This bar is fantastic and the service cannot be compared. If you want to play a game of pool, or maybe sit and write… you can be your best self“

“We did the stromboli, pizza and bruschetta. All of it was delicious and timed well (bruschetta was first with time to eat prior to the rest showing up). Wasn't crazy expensive for the amount of food which was a nice change coming from Seattle. Waitstaff was prompt and timely, meaning we weren't waiting nor being hurried which makes a stop more enjoyable to us.“

“Things to dig about the Record Pub: - Music for every type of listener. -Bar to sit down for a drink and think about what records you need to add to your arsenal. -Staff to talk about your selections with. -Educated suggestions for additional beats based upon the ensuing conversation of music you’ll have with the bartender. -Finishing another beverage all happy and giddy about the new vinyl you’re taking home.“
