We were impressed by the presentation of our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. We also enjoyed the best crab ragoons we've ever had (ordered 2 more to-go). “The food is well above what you would expect for a bar. We go there often for a drink, but rarely get a meal because we are pescatarian (love the appetizers though!). Today, we were thrilled because we asked the chef gal if she would make us a fish sandwich and she went out of her way to make us happy, even coming out several times to clarify what we wanted. It was an amazing sandwich and we hope they’ll add it to the menu! Also, our friend asked for fry sauce and the chef went back and whipped some up for her. “Canary is simply a gem of a place. The vibe is always so relaxed. The service is always great and the food never misses. My wife and I have had practically everything on the menu for brunch and dinner since they opened. The Canary Burger is one of the best in Portland. Not overly complicated. Just a good honest burger with excellent crispy bacon, well seasoned burger patties, and just enough condiments to get stuff on your face but not too much where you wear it. The fries are crispy as hell however the sweet potato fries are the highlight. The Chicken and Waffles are awesome and don't sleep on their beet salad or any of their specials.
