As most folks in the PNW know, McMenamins restaurants are some of the best! Each one has a unique sense of style and character. Out of all of the ones I've visited, the Hillsdale McMenamins is my favorite! Today, we sat outside on the patio to enjoy their happy hour specials on a sunny day. I first visited this place in 2010 where I was delighted with a great bison burger served steaming hot! Those days are long gone but here's the thing, I ordered a large burger with mushrooms and it was pretty decent! Substandard frozen fries and a horrible facsimile of what was called coleslaw which immediately raised a white flag and surrendered to my scorn!

Great burgers. And they have good tartar sauce for fries or tots. Friendly servers and fast service most days. I'd much rather call ahead to order a great burger than eat horrible drive through food.
