Great spot for a break downtown, with a friendly happy vibe. Quiet enough for conversations. It would be five stars if not for the fact that they charge $1 for non-dairy creamer, and I am fed up with paying the non-dairy tax. We all know how inexpensive alternative milks are, and many of us are so tired of paying this exorbitant surcharge. Kudos to the coffee shops that have stopped this unfair practice! - sadly, Java Man is not yet one of them. Otherwise, it's a great spot.

this genuinely had some of the best matcha and beignets I've ever had. staff was nice and friendly, the atmosphere could genuinely not be better (just now catching the typo.. said bad atmosphere for some reason?)

We stopped by Java Man Coffee while staying in downtown Portland and were very pleased! They have a wide variety of food offerings and an extensive coffee menu.
My only note is that the coffees I’ve tried were rather sweet and not very strong - if you enjoy strong coffee, consider adding an extra shot!

Amazing coffee and food. Great atmosphere and wonderful employees.
Beautiful atmosphere with tons of plants and a variety of seating options. The oat milk latte was excellent, and we especially liked the freshly-baked pastries. (Non-dairy milk is a 75-cent additional charge.) Java Man is a great place to stop by for coffee and a quick bite, or to sit and stay a while!
