Delicious, like setting foot in Japan so set your expectations. Either 100% delightful as it was for us, or perhaps a bit disorienting
This authentic Japanese restaurant not only serves the best traditional Japanese sushi, nigiri and also some new fusion like Portland Hanabi, Aji 3 ways … we had a great meal and forgot to take pictures! Will definitely come back!

Akizawa Japanese Bistro offers an intimate setting with exceptional Japanese cuisine. The menu features a variety of dishes, including chawanmushi, karaage, takuwan and umekyu maki, nigri, and specialty rolls. The karaage is crispy and light, and the nigiri is beautifully plated and delicious. The restaurant is a very authentic experience with excellent food and sake selection. The agedashi tofu, fried octopus, and pork katsu are crunchy outside yet soft and juicy inside. The atmosphere is hospitable, and the service is kind and helpful. Akizawa is a must-visit for Japanese food lovers, and reservations are recommended for weekends.
