Real nostalgic trip. Kind and solid people with good food and coffee. 1950's feel

Kind of a weird vibe inside. But very nice people. Located in a sketchy area… also they don’t accept card. So don’t be a fool like me and forget cash…

If you want a cheap and bland breakfast in a quiet old dinner, then this is the place. Foodies stay away.

I was sitting at a table having a coffee while on my laptop when the wife/owner literally hit me with the vacuum cleaner while speaking another language which was obivously unkind words. It was a very rude way to treat a customer. On top of that, the place was nearly empty. It wasn't like I was holding up a table from someone that was waiting. I won't be back. I'd rate them zero stars if I could.

There is no better spot in Portland for a hearty breakfast. The couple that owns and runs this place are kind and warm. They will feed you well and make you feel like family. I am truly thankful for their hospitality and encouragement.

Quaint family owned coffee shop. Great simple breakfast food. Best prices. A friendly vibe all around. Just note it is cash only, so hit up your ATM before you come.

We’re over here from Australia, stumbled across this place and very pleased we did. A family run business operating for over 50 years, the food and service was incredible. Came here twice in our two days here. Thank you!

Sweet Husband and Wife… so quaint and nostalgic. Was staying in walking distance, and came in with my Grand-daughter. We had the most delicious pancakes we have ever eaten, and even ordered some to go!!! The steak and eggs were delish. Perfect sunny side up eggs. So hard to find nowadays! The hash blew my mind… I could have eaten three helpings!!! Just typing this is making me long for them again! We were treated like family, because I was raised to be respectful. I cringe at how some people treat those that serve them at restaurants. We can’t wait to go back when I am back in town…

Really wonderful find. Places like this are a dying breed. Old school everything...service, atmosphere and even prices. They have been open here since the early 1970's.

John’s coffee shop is everything you want in a breakfast place. Food, service, and atmosphere were perfect. Could not recommend this place enough. Very hard to come by this kind of diner these days.
