Recent Reviews

I'll be honest this place was not for me. Being a vegetarian I was not a huge fan of their vegetarian options. However, At least they had one. Also, everyone else (that eats meat) loves the food. So I will base my rating on their impression as well. It seems like they have good food well made that's authentic. The vegetarian option was very spicy and that made it difficult for me so if you love spice in your vegetarian diet you might love it.

I wasn’t sure what I thought about my first few experiences here. I tried a few different ramens, mostly with bone broth.

But today I decided to try the vegan tan tan with tofu and oh mannnnn. Thats the one for me! I suddenly understand all the hype for Kayo’s.

I’ve eaten a lot of ramen in a lot of cities. Kayo’s is in the top 3 in Portland for me. I’m so glad I live a few mins away, cuz I am likely going to end up in here all the...

This restaurant will adapt most ramens to make it vegan or vegetarian and they have great vegetarian options listed in the menu. Portland is good for that. Portland is known for its ramen because the water. (“Japanese chef Taichi Ishizuki chose Portland, Oregon to open the first US location of his restaurant because of the city's water quality.” Kayo’s ramen doesn’t taste strongly of seaweed (a must for me), and has wonderful ramens with a Portland twist.
