Kenny & Zuke's Delicatessen Reviews
Food is great. Probably the best Jewish deli in Portland. Sometimes they just decide not to be open. And today they’re playing loud speed metal at Saturday brunch. Which is a little random. And disturbing.
This used to be an excellent restaurant, but their prices have gone too high too quickly. The staff seems to be upset when you ask them for something and service has gotten progressively slower. Nice menu but the prices are just way too high. Just my opinion folks.
What happened to this place? COVID? Change of owners? Hadn't been here in several years, and it's just not what I remember. Stripped down menu, iffy (though friendly!) service... It's just not the awesome deli it once was. Such a bummer. However, bagels were good, and that's a pretty big win, so...
Kenny & Zuke's Delicatessen is a bagel and sandwich spot located in Portland. The restaurant offers a variety of classic deli items, including lox, pastrami, and deviled egg salad sandwiches. While the menu is streamlined compared to the previous location, the food is generally tasty, if not particularly exceptional.
The decor of the restaurant is described as "clean but plain & basic," with an "uninteresting" ambiance. The service is hit-or-miss, with some staff appearing "bored" and lacking enthusiasm when discussing the menu. However, the outdoor seating area with shared picnic tables is noted as a pleasant feature.
Reviewers had mixed experiences with the food - the pastrami sandwich and coffee were praised, but the lox bagel and deviled egg salad were found to be somewhat lackluster. The bagels themselves are considered good, but the toppings can be overly salty. Overall, the consensus seems to be that Kenny & Zuke's provides a satisfactory deli experience, but it doesn't necessarily stand out from the crowd of bagel spots in Portland.
