Best Thai spot I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in Portland so far! The requested spice was perfectly balanced and the ingredients and meat in my dish were fresh and high quality. 10/10, I will definitely be back. Soon!

This was a really nice spot. It had a really good layout, a big bay door entry, clean, and a beautiful view of the walking bridge. The service was quick and prompt, and their plating was phenomenal. (FLOWERS ON MY PLATE, AND DRINK?! YESSSSS) The food wasn't as spicy as I was hoping. But they brought over spices to bring it up to my insane level of spice. Not enough spice is a me problem, not them. I will be coming back!

I have really enjoyed trying the salads during my visits to Kao San. My favorites are Yum Kor Mu Yang (char grilled pork), the green papaya salad, larb and summer rolls. Delicious flavors and fresh tasting ingredients. My husband has had the more traditional Pad Kee Mao and Pad Thai and enjoyed it very much. They have outdoor seating on a corner that’s great for people watching. We have been to Kao San several times and the service is always friendly and excellent.

Massaman curry was okay, it was on the sweeter side. Rice was extra an 3 bucks Asked for very spicy, got white person spicy. Thai tea was equally as spicy, which was also very sweet. Service was good.
My favorite restaurant in Portland. The food always tastes great and the service is quick and friendly. Order it Thai hot if you want to sweat!

Excellent food and amazing service! Really speedy, but food taste amazing. The pumpkin chicken curry with rice and street pad thai with shrimp are delicious and highly recommend those! Also the pork pot stickers are also tasty! I do also enjoy the menu showing anything gluten free or vegetarian options.

Food was bland. Spicy dish was actually not spicy. Group order of different dishes and everyone agreed. Curries also did not come with rice. Thai iced tea was good, though!

Had walked by this place so many times and finally gave it a try. The interior itself is roomy and spacious with large wood beams and fun Thai decor. We grabbed a couple menus and sat ourselves.
Wound up going with the fish cakes and the basil chicken which we split. The food itself was tasty and flavorful. The portions I’d say were about mid range based on the price. We weren’t the hungriest so I’d be interested in coming back and trying it another time.
Service across the board was solid. We had water brought out immediately when we arrived which was great and the food also came out fast. I was a little confused on where to actually order and pay from since there was a pay here sign at the front but everything else was table service. All in all a nice place to stop by for a quick bite.
