This place ripped me off. I stopped by for a late lunch three days ago. Had fish and chips and a seltzer water, total bill of $14. Left a $4 tip. That evening my bank notified me they had changed me $49! I called and spoke to a waitress who told me she’d have the manager call me. No one has called. I think the waitress screwed up my bill with another table. Which I discovered when I unlayered my receipts.

I’ve been in town for a couple weeks on a work trip and have visited this bar a couple times due to it being so close to where I’m staying. Now, I should also mention, I was a bartender for 12 years. So when I encounter a bartender with a stick up their ass, it particularly grinds my gears. I’ve been served by Mia and Isabella a handful of times. And let me tell you. A world of difference. Isabella should take a lesson from Mia on customer service. Mia is sweet, and attentive. And Isabella has a major attitude problem who is clearly new to the game and clearly dealing with some power trip issues. Needless to say, I won’t be coming here again nor will I be recommending it. I don’t need a buzz kill after a long work day. Your “hot girl working” shirt is actually hilarious. You aren’t hot shit honey, so sit down.

Food takes a while
Over half an hour for a pulled pork sandwich. The bar was not even half full.

I visit here often because the food is much better than similar places at this price point. You order at the bar, but a server will come around to take another order later on. TVs playing American sports are everywhere if that is your thing. Oh, and cozy elevated bench seating in a few spots

Bartender was incredibly rude, refused service to someone for no reason and when confronted about it claimed that everyone was “slurring their words”. Terrible service overall. I myself was served just fine but seeing how the bartender treated everyone else in the bar made me very uncomfortable. Hopefully the bartender is dealt with as he should not be working any customer facing role.

Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I went to the bar after 1 drink and he refuses to serve me because “I haven’t tipped in 2 years”. This is crazy because I’ve only been in Portland for 6 months so he must be mistaking the person. Also who doesn’t serve someone due to them not tipping?? I work customer service and for someone to bring that up is just insane. Hopefully the bartender is delt with
The worst smelling men’s bathroom ever, then the French dip with tots.. beyond salty. It was clear after I told the bartender I didn’t like the food he had told the cook. It explained the man who clearly worked there mean mugging me. Unbelievable, I shook my head in disbelief and said never again. And Never again will I return to this S hole. Highly disappointed and would not recommend unless you love overly salty food and a bathroom that smells like an outhouse that has been saturated in homeless piss. Absolutely disgusting between the food, bathroom and staff.

Tough crowd, tough bar owners, and tough bar tenders. Didn’t have a good time. Maybe if things get better things would be better. Couldn’t get on the pool table. The good looking girl at the pool table was with two very insecure guys, who wouldn’t let anyone else in the space. They got butt hurt and called th cops to come help them with their issues. Very unfun place to be and bad staff and regulars to be with.

It is a classic place located in downtown Portland. Usually we get drinks here, but this time we wanted to get some food for lunch. We got the Riley Grinder and Smashed Burger to share. The food came out pretty quick, and our waiter was attentive. The pepperoncini gave it that lil zing to the sandwich.

THE BEST FOOD AND BEST PRICES, all of our food was the best we've ever had, French dip and onion rings, fish and tater tots. All cooked perfectly and only took 10 minutes. Also had THE BEST lemon drop, tasted really fresh, not like sweet & sour mix like most places, very highly recommended

Great dive bar! I ordered a Negroni off menu and it was honestly perfect. Cool ambiance and nice people working there. Free pool, darts, and shuffle board. You might have to adjust your angles a bit to avoid hitting people with the pool stick but it adds to the challenge. What more can you ask for?
