The bar/restaurant is one of the best experiences Portland has to offer. The drinks are fun and tasty. The food menu might be limited but it is absolutely amazing. Every item on the menu is bold, real and will blow your mind. A true gem! The birria takes the crown!

Fabulous drink selection. I was struggling because I wanted one of everything, and our server suggested letting the bartender create something based on the flavors I was looking for. The result was an incredibly delicious passion fruit mezcal drink that rocked my world. They infuse some of their spirits too. One was vodka sesame, another with cardamom - super cool.Impressive tequila and mezcal selection, and still had room at the bar for a great bourbon selection too!The music was also great!Parking: Free depending upon time of dayKid-friendliness: Leave ‘em at homeWheelchair accessibility: Roll on in

We went last night and learned so much when we did a mescal and tequila flight. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the different types of alcohol they serve from different parts of Mexico. The owner came out and explained the delicious dishes as well. We will definitely be going again.

The restaurant closed way earlier than it was advertised here. They didn't even tell us about it so that we could make other arrangements. OpenTable still continues to show slots that this restaurant don't serve. Our reservation was at 11 pm.

This is a perfect date night spot. Low lighting, good music, lovely service, authentic vibe. Mezcal bar. The bartender will offer suggestions based on your pallet. Highly recommend ✨

A perfect bar for folks looking for great agave, an excellent bar tender, delicious light food, and a welcoming space. This is a new favorite that I will be sure to go back to again and again.

A fabulous evening! Great atmosphere, delicious food, attentive service, inventive cocktails (they have an amazing collection of mezcal, but I wanted whiskey so the bartender asked a few questions and then made me an awesome customized drink based on what I like). Loved the decor and the playlist, which created just the right fun energy without requiring us to shout at one another. Going back soon!

Visited Bar Comala a couple of times in the last few months and have been wowed! First, the lighting and decor create an intimate ambiance. The candles and lighting are mesmerizing. Both visits, I ordered the Cardini Salad and birria tacos. The salad was warm veggies (roasted?) with a tangy savory dressing. Since they change the veggies based on what's currently fresh, they used Brussels sprouts this time. It's absolutely delicious and I could eat it every day. The birria tacos are bursting with flavor as well. The meat was melt in your mouth tender. I wouldn't be able to choose between them so I recommend ordering both. To drink, I ordered the Ponche Sagrado, which was so soothing and delicious. It was sweet, tangy and a tiny bit spicy. It was a hot drink and perfect for a cool fall day. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. It feels like visiting family. I've never been disappointed in my visits to Bar Comala and will definitely be back.

The food is ok, too extravagant and small quantities for Mexican food . They do gasp a bit the flavor of Mexico , but I believe things can be less expensive and more into the Mexican cuisine . The drinks are fabulous, that is worth it 100% .

Amazing mezcal selection!!! Owner was very knowledgeable about agave spirits and clearly passionate about the way they are presented. Everyone kept telling me there was no mezcal scene in Portland but clearly these guys are building it and they're doing the Lord's work.

An excellent find on the NW Park Blocks, where the great Park Kitchen used to be. This is the bar side of De Noche, from the people at Replublica, and it is super solid. We had the empanadas, tacos de birria, and the quesidilla, and all were authentic Mexican and delicious! Good cocktails and service too! Highly recommended!

This place is awesome! You can choose between a fancy dinner vibe or a more casual speakeasy environment. They educate you on the dishes and drinks you order which is awesome if you prefer that kind of experience. Definitely can tell it’s a new restaurant as they seemed to be figuring things out as they went but it has great potential! Would definitely recommend and return! Shout out to our server Kareem! Super kind and welcoming. Thanks for making our experience very premium!

Incredible cocktails, great tasting menu that seems to really focus on nixtamalization of corn meal.Great bar and service that.
