Sitting outside in the sun and eating Lovejoy breakfast sandwiches with coffees is about as good as it gets! Really tasty food and gracious and enthusiastic service so don’t miss this place.

Really exited this place opened in the neighborhood! Friendly service, awesome pastries, comfortable chairs, clean design, fantastic morning light, great outdoor seating. Haven’t tried the bread but it looks amazing.

Found them through the TooGoodToGo app. Everything they make is magical, and you simply can't go wrong. Snickerdoodles are to die for!

Sweet, pun intended, little Saturday pop-up shop attached to the Brooklyn neighborhood’s new production bakery, Flour Market.

Sweet, pun intended, little Saturday pop-up shop attached to the Brooklyn neighborhood’s new production bakery, Flour Market. They freshly bake and serve up delicious breads, pastry, cookies and delicious cold-brew coffee. As the world returns to normal I believe they’ll be open more often for walk-ups during the week but for now it’s easy to pre-order through their website, FB or IG accounts. You’ll be more than glad you did.

We visited Lovejoy a couple of times during our visit to Portland; we were staying in the Pearl District, and it was near our hotel. Our breakfast visit was great; we got a delicious morning bun with orange and cardamom. It had nice texture and sweetness, and the flavor combination worked. The coffee was smooth and drinkable, and bergamot tea hit the spot. Our lunch visit was also enjoyable. I highly recommend the turkey cranberry sandwich: the bread was perfectly toasted, the bacon was super crisp, and the combination of turkey, avocado, and cranberry really worked. It was sizable without being silly (i.e., too big to eat). A pulled pork sandwich was only okay; the brioche roll was good but the pulled pork flavor was average. Similarly, beef chili (the soup of the day) was decent, but not remarkable. The molasses ginger cookie was fantastic! Overall, a nice neighborhood spot. Lovely pastry selection and good service.

This is a marvelous neighborhood gem. A great location adds to the very friendly staff and some of the freshest and tastiest pastries I’ve ever had. Highly recommend .

I commonly pass this place on the Portland Streetcar, so I decided to give it a try. They have an excellent espresso menu and a wide array of house-made baked goods and desserts. It was tempting to order 5 pastries because they all looked amazing. They have a hot breakfast menu, and I ordered a breakfast sandwich. That, however, was not as good as I hoped it would be. It was sloppily prepared and a bit small for the price. It tasted good, but for $8.75 I would have liked the size and quality to be slightly better. Fortunately, the impressive espresso menu and tempting array of baked goods inspired me to give this place 4 stars instead of 3.
