For context, I am from Texas so I have had a wide array of tacos and can confirm: Mahi Taco has the best tacos I have had in Portland.
The tacos from Mahi Taco are very flavorful, balanced harmoniously, and use quality ingredients. Their salsas are pointed, delicious, and have clean flavors that elevate your experience!
And like the food is actually seasoned so well, like it is actually legit seasoned. You know when you go to places and they say it is blackened but it’s not. No, that is not the case here. Actually very well-seasoned.
If you are/or have been to Texas, this is place is like Torchy’s but better. The ingredients here are better, the flavors are better, and the salsas are way way better. Overall, fresher and more elevated!
I almost gave up on my taco search in Portland because I was getting disappointed especially since I’ve had a lot of amazing tacos in Texas. Mahi Taco gave me hope and changed my mind about Portland tacos. Please come here, it is actually so good!!!! I don’t say that lightly :) very yum!

Super consistent, delicious food. The owner is a really kind person, and puts a lot of love into everything he makes. We enjoy all of the taco fillings and sauces, the rice is nicely done, the slaw is lovely and the mac salad is perfect.
We've eaten here a decent amount and every time it's been delicious. It's a one-person operation and the owner gets busy, so if he's short with you, know that he's trying to crank out orders. Don't perceive it as rudeness, guy is really kind and busy and just trying to give everybody a quality meal.

Located in a comfortable spot near covered seating in a sea shantytown type atmosphere. Arcade on site, bathrooms, great for a date, kids, or just to enjoy an afternoon. Try the sauces!!! Tacos and sliders are a must!!!
Ate here twice this week because it’s that good! I love Hawaiian food and this spot doesn’t disappoint. Amazing Mac salad and the tacos are spot on! 🏆🌟 I’ve tried all the tacos and all are absolutely delicious.

Came here once, it was closed. However, my second attempt they were open. The mahi tacos were delicious. Fish tacos are one of my favorites and these were comparable to some of favorite spots in San Diego, South Florida, and in Mexico. Highly recommend trying these.

GET THE FISH TACOS, so so good, they do not skimp on the fish AND FOR THE PRICE??? OMG CANNOT BEAT IT!! 10/10
Go here if you want a flavor explosion in your mouth. The mahi is good but the kalua pork takes the prize (it’s smoked), and vegans/vegetarians should be excited about the fried avocado. The sides are fine, no need to go crazy with getting all three although my 2 taco plate did come with them.
