Marée Reviews
Local restauranteur extraordinaire Garrett McAleese has done it again. Close your eyes and you are in Basque Country, fresh from surfing in Biarritz. Food is delightful.

Loved the space and the cocktails were delicious! Marée has converted me when it comes to anchovies (truly, I was so pleasantly surprised) and I will definitely be coming back! Everyone was so friendly, too.

Marée is a cozy and inviting restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience with a touch of Basque Country flair. The space has a friendly atmosphere, with a vibe reminiscent of a small European restaurant. The restaurant is known for its fresh seafood, which is both classic and creatively prepared, with dishes like rockfish with herb sauce, calamari, and clams with bomba rice. The menu features a variety of dishes that are carefully thought out, with flavors that are well blended and often highlighted by a little extra spice or flavor to make each dish interesting.
Guests can enjoy a curated wine list at fair prices, and the small but excellent selection of cocktails, including some delicious sherry, add to the enjoyable atmosphere. The service is attentive, friendly, and efficient, making sure that every guest feels welcome and well taken care of. Many reviewers mention the high quality of the food, the vibrant flavors, and the cozy, European-like vibe of the outdoor seating.
Overall, Marée is a neighborhood favorite that combines excellent seafood, creative dishes, and friendly service, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a memorable meal in Portland.
