The service and atmosphere were fine; the food, not so much. I had fish tacos, which were several small, heavily fried fish chunks, with tacos so oily that I couldn’t pick them up to eat them. Pretty expensive for mediocre food.

Amongst so many spots that disappoint us in this town, almost made us not wanna eat out anyore, bc they cut corners on their meat quality, their ingredients, this spot stands out as still bringing absolutely perfectly cooked, seasoned food!! They are top notch and im so grateful 🤗 Their chicken was delicious in the quesadillas last night. Excellent people at the bar. Yummy birria. This place is run by people who care, and have high standards. Thank you matador youre our fav!

Less than half full container of soup for 12 dollars….. I don’t know what happened to the serving sizes here but this is just sad now, used to be great but no longer.
Good food and portions. Great service and great decor.

Food is always a banger here and the dishes have always been tasty. They haven't disappointed at all. Go to happy hour and get some food for half price.

I really liked the interior design during evening time. The food was definitely top tier as well. Great place to socialize with friends and enjoy a great meal.

Always a good time at Matador. Having 4 kids myself being able to go to an adult only place is pretty awesome. Very thankful for a spot like this.
The new location here is just as great as the other spots, no complaints. Seems like less seating then NW place but with all the outdoor seating maybe they have more.
The Open air seating is prime, definitely recommend it on a fun summer day in Portland. We really enjoyed our time here.
The food was on point and delicious, albiet some items can be a bit spicy for me. However, those with less spice enablement, I would recommend the bean dip, guacamole, and fajitas.
Great little date night spot with good music, lighting and atmosphere.
Staff is good, the gal that served us was friendly and quick, your mileage may vary. Little slower, typically because they want to allow a little chatting time, which is sometimes appreciated, sometimes not😀
Overall, definitely recommend to folks looking for a kid free date night. Find a free week night and stop on by if you can.

Always the best! The nachos for happy our are the best deal in town! I have tried all the locations, consistent service, and food at every location.

The fajitas and enchiladas are amazing. Not oily like many other places. Good meat and great portions. Probably one of my favorites when it comes to mexican/South American food. Highly recommend

(2 1/2 stars)I called in for Brussels, Birria tacos, and enchiladas that was mid as best. And for this being my first time here I was gravely disappointed, especially becauseof the hype surrounding this place. They gave us no sauces, very very little consume for my tacos and the Brussels were cold and soggy. It was edible but won't come back.. cool place just lack luster in the kitchen and for the price I was hoping for more...
