The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered to our room at The Inn at Northrup Station and it was fresh and hot upon arrival!
Waiter ignored us. Tried to get his attention several times to order more drinks and placed our empty glasses at the edge of the table to make it obvious that we wanted to order more. Finally got another waiter to come over. My friend asked for another round and I started to say what drink I wanted but he abruptly walked off and I wasnt sure if he had heard me. Some time later our original waiter showed up but with the wrong drinks. We didnt complain and just paid up and went down the street to a place with better service. We come once a week for happy hour and the food and drinks are delicous but this is around the 5th time in 3 months we've had terrible service. We will be going to a different matador in the future.

Everyone was super friendly and I loved the shrimp quesadilla omg. The tacos are also bomb. Can’t wait to go back soon!! Matador is the spot! #

This place is wonderful! The food is fabulous, and so are the beverages. I only wish they were kid friendly because I would visit more often - we are a family with young kids! My favorite dishes are the crispy Brussel sprouts and fish tacos and nachos and the warm crispy chips and homemade salsa they bring out while you wait!! Im getting hungry just thinking about their food.. GO- You won't be disappointed

Food & drinks are good. I'm more of a traditional Mexican Restaurant, greasy spoon type of place. Worth a try though for sure. I had the Carne Asada Mango tacos & Shrimp Ceviche with Pacifico to wash it down. It's a Portland restaurant. Also, they don't allow kids

I came during a business trip and saw the reviews so I had to stop by! I was a bit disappointed with the drinks as they are heavily iced and watered down for the price. When I saw them being made, 1/4 of the cup i the actual cocktail and the rest is filled with ice.
The food was decent, much more Tex-Mex than anything else. I ordered the fajita steak and I requested medium but got well done. Luckily it was juicy enough and not dry and seasoned well that it was pretty good so no need to ask for a remake.

The waitress didn’t want to provide plasticware upon request, and then magically appeared with plasticware. Also, the tacos and burrito shells weren’t cooked long enough.

Not sure why I am addicted to this place, maybe it’s the spaciousness of the restaurant, the consistent and incredibly friendly service, or their happy hour $6 specials and free chips! I am always happy to have gone here whether by myself or with a friend.
A great spot for late night cravings as well.

Always a good meal at a Matador. The North Portland location has consistently excellent service. I sat at the bar this time and the service was great!
