2 of us had fish and chips with slaw and we both agreed that the tartar sauce was the best part of the meal. The fish batter was so so greasy that there was a puddle under the fish. The fries were old and cold. The slaw had no flavor. I'm wondering how this location stays open.

We arrived at 5:25P for happy hour. The sign at the top of the steps said please seat yourself. We chose the patio. After 15 minutes of waiting, I went to check in at the bar. I only received a “hello”. I grabbed myself a menu and went back to the patio. After another 25 minutes the wait staff finally came out. There was zero apology for the length of the wait. When I asked how long the wait would be for food they replied with “I don’t know, I haven’t been back to the kitchen.” When I stated we missed happy hour times because we waiting over 30 minutes to be greeted, again, no apology. We paid full price for drinks and full price for food because at this rate we were beyond hangry and fed up with trying to figure out where to go instead. I have been to multiple Mcmenamins locations and this by far was the worst service experience I have ever had.

Decent beer selection but not great. Food is edible but not good and it’s trrrible by Portland standards. Our party had tasteless msc and cheese, and overcooked burger with rock-like tater tons and oily fish and chips. Gross.

I wish I could give no stars. I’ve never had such a bad experience at any McMenamins but this was the worst. Ignored by the waitress, our order messed up multiple times, when they finally remembered to put our food order in, it was either cold or wrong. I will not be going back.
The best part about this location is the atmosphere. A large ceiling entry catches your attention and lets light in over an open feeling space. There is outdoor heated seating on the south side and some cute both areas.The food is so-so, but the beers are good.The service can be pretty consistently terrible. They’re slow to take your order, often slow to check in. I’ve seen a few irate tables that were worked up over concerns that their servers were never coming back. They often don’t answer the phone for pickup orders, or put you on hold and never come back. Don’t go for the service or the food.If you like ambiance, beer, and are pretty chill about service, give it a try!
