Absolutely delicious! This is a restaurant operated by a Japanese chef and both the food and service feels very authentic.
I loved my salmon & salmon roe donburi and am so glad I decided to eat here before my long drive back home!

Great sushi, service, and surroundings.
Was searching for cold soba and found Koji while in the neighborhood at the end of a work trip. So glad I did! The server was so kind and welcoming (and a beautiful person), and the soba and tempura vegetables were delicious. I wish I was able to eat here more often, but will definitely be back when in Portland again.

Koji Osakaya Japanese Restaurant is known for its high-quality and delicious food, offering a variety of authentic Japanese dishes that are difficult to find elsewhere. The service is friendly and attentive, making customers feel welcome. Standout dishes include the spicy tuna roll, yakitori chicken, tempura, katsu curry, oyako don, and chirashi. The fish is always fresh, and the lunch options are popular. The menu also features ama ebi, a rare find of raw sweet shrimp with fried heads, and the plum & mint roll. The ambience has a Japanese feel, and the food is expertly prepared, with many customers praising the freshness and quality of every dish. Despite price increases over the years, the restaurant continues to serve consistently high-quality food. It remains one of the best spots in Portland for sushi and Japanese noodles, with a reputation for superb higher-end sushi and authentic flavors.
