I love staying at the White Eagle, a historic working person’s hotel in North Portland. The music venue downstairs is wonderful, food always excellent, rooms are basic and comfy, bathrooms down the hall clean with lots of hot water for showers. Best of all, friendly staff and courteous fellow guests. Bargain prices. I stay here on almost all my trips through Portland.

Great getaway in the city. Small and cozy. Only 5 parking spots on the property. Near pretty much nothing else. Can't charge to the room. Showers tiny yet adequate. Nice folks, of course!

This a unique spot and is absolutely a place I'd go back to for live music. We heard KJ Moore whom Id never heard of but was transfixed by their dark bluegrass feel. The sound balance was excellent although there was very little seating where you could see them. I recommend coming early. The place was decorated and laid out like a cozy dark saloon which was fun if a tad unpractical at times. Service was fine. I think one of the barkeeps was having a hard night but the other...
