Mikasa is one of our regular spots, we love this place! Our usual is the shoyu ramen with chashu, the spider roll, and chicken karage. Their unique sumiso sauce that comes with the karage is so tangy and delicious! But the thing I love most is their broth — great depth that is rich in umami flavor ?

the sushi itself was good, however, the person taking orders was also finalizing plates and never once washed their hands while handling the wasabi.
they were just rolling it in their bare hands, would stop to do something else like grab their water bottle to drink (this is just one example), then resume rolling wasabi bare handed. I watched them for many minutes doing this and suffice to say I did not eat any wasabi once our plates came. ?
clearly that person has never taken a food handler's test! also a huge shame that the sushi chefs never chided them for not washing!!! especially given the chefs themselves were gloved up. so very gross and I am never eating here again.

This is one of those places that 2 years ago knew had potential. I feel like they got off to a bit of a rocky start but listened to feedback and improved, tremendously. Right on, Mikasa. I knew you had it in you!

I hate giving bad reviews. Last time I was here I was given a very sub-par tonkatsu that had a very watery broth.

I didn't feel the manager handled it well, the woman at the front desk did fine with how useless the manager was being.

This is not the first dish I have had a problem with at this restaurant.

I wish them the best but they need to improve, they have a problem with quality.

I wish that they would go back to serving food on actual plates and dishes when you’re sitting outside or over at the Garrison nextdoor. The food is good but too expensive to be served in take out containers when you’re dining in nextdoor. I know covid changed a lot but I rarely eat here anymore because of this.

The tonkotsu is not legit, and is under spiced. The pork belly is so overcooked I thought of using it as a paving stone. I am shocked that this restaurant has a 4.6 as of writing this. If you love good ramen, avoid this place.Edited: I feel that my previous rating was a bit too harsh so I've moved it to 3 stars. I did not to intend to imply that it was inedible, just not good ramen.

We've had Mikasa delivery a few times and finally got to go in person. It's a nice, small, restaurant with a few tables along 1 wall. The waitresses were friendly and helpful with our questions before ordering. We got the gyoza, edamame, miso ramen, laksa ramen (made gluten free), cali & avocado rolls, and a poke bowl. Everyone was very happy with their order and gobbled it. The laksa was nicely spicy and the soft boiled egg in the ramen was so good. We'll definitely be back!

Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options and they were really accommodating about food allergies so would probably also accommodate vegetarian requests

Dietary restrictions: Server double checked with the kitchen for our dietary restrictions without us asking her to.

Parking: Street parking on the side streets

Kid-friendliness: Gyoza, edamame, and other kid friendly options. Our girls loved what they got.

Simple spot in St. John’s for an easy lunch or dinner. It’s casual counter service and the tables will fill up. Not the best sushi but good for this area.
