Mikes drive in is actually "Mike's Drive In." Google couldn't afford apostrophes when they added this listing, so the mistake is entirely theirs.
I don't know Mike, but I hear he was in the Merchant Marine and dreamed of opening a drive in. So he jumped ship in Astoria and moved to Portland, to avoid the press gangs. Mike is pretty smart.
His burgers are great, too. They are great, old school burgers with the stuff on them, and nit just fries, but also coleslaw or a cookie and a drink in the basket. Pretty swell!

Amazing place! Kayeisha was working so hard! She was kind, friendly and made our experience wonderful! She needs a raise! She worked so hard and provided my family with a fabulous experience! I can’t wait to dine with mikes again and get her great service!

Burger - sloppy, squashed, sub par, sad eating experience . . but I have had good deserts there, before.

Atmosphere - Whole seating area floor dirty and littered. Again . . sad
Either they are understaffed . . some of the crew are lazy - or both . .
Note to owner: Put more people on to keep up and/or train your staff better at that location. Pretty disappointing experience compared to previous experiences at your location and other Mike's drive-in restaurants.

Nice clean place good quality fresh food for a local burger stand definitely will be back good eating!
First time eating there i purchased the blue cheese bacon burger with fries. The burger was OK and same for the fries, the burger felt thrown together quickly and had an ok taste. It wasn't enough to make me want to go back soon but 2-3 times a year for a change is entirely possible.

Update 10/24 - seeing a common issue with the below comments and my latest experience. Ordered online to eat in. Half of my order was messed up. They made it right. But, it I'd left to discover at home, I wouldn't waste my time anymore. Too bad. Mike's has been a staple in Portland for as long as I can remember. Hope they are able to turn it around.

Approx 10 people on staff, empty drive-thru and no one in the lobby. Swung through the drive-thru for a pick up and was refused service unless I drove around, parked and came in. Only to be ignored while employees passed by me, ignored me, and when I finally got the order, it was right next to the drive-thru and the employee passed by the windows twice before handing it to me in the lobby.??♀️
Ordered from the drive thru. Asked for a mushroom Swiss, received a Guacamole Swiss and Bacon. Realized when I got home. It was good, just not right. The Cole slaw wasn't very good. But the onion rings and pumpkin shake made up for it. We also ordered cod, sweet potato fries, cookie and Marionberry shake. The tarter sauce wasn't very good. But the cod, fries and shake were great! Drive-Thru attendee was very personable and communication was great on their end. Will be back for milkshakes

A few times being here now. Was excited thinking it was the same experience as the OG location in Milwaukee. Sadly not. My bf makes better burgers. There soft serve swirl is good. This one time my bf went to order something and some older lady cut him in line for a ice cream cone and he just went mkay let's go wen ur done. My last visit was very loud. Plz tip them I can tell the younger workers prob go home with a headache everyday.
