No Fun isn’t just a bar—it’s a bunker glowing in neon, alive with the hum of amps and the crackle of posters that feel like artifacts. You don’t stumble into it; you cross a threshold. The air carries sweat, whiskey, and the promise of something loud enough to shake loose the week. Bands hit the stage like it owes them rent, and the crowd pushes forward, not for chaos but for communion. If Portland is curated calm, No Fun is the release valve—proof that music still has teeth. The code is simple: twenty-one and up, cash at the door, no apologies. Happy Hour runs till 7 every day, the perfect warm-up before karaoke ignites and trivia cuts sharp. The floor keeps the memory of every stomp, every cheer. Between sets, Devil’s Dill feeds you the kind of sandwiches that taste better with a drink in hand and live sound in your chest. There’s no velvet rope, no guest list—just a stage, a mic, and a room ready to be rewired by noise and laughter. Step outside and Portland’s polished glow returns—cafés, boutiques, curated calm. Step back in and the strobe greets you like a spotlight, daring you to join in. No Fun thrives on contradiction—it’s sweat and joy, ruin and renewal, strangers shouting the same chorus until they’re no longer strangers. The name is a joke everyone’s in on, and the punchline is simple: this place is alive, and so are you the second you walk through the door.

There’s always a cool punk rock show going on here.

Monday trivia was fun and fast paced! Sandwiches are amazing, particularly the braised beef. Good beer selection, a few N.A. options.

Bar is almost always busy, and usually has a show playing. The drinks are strong but good, though I cannot recommend the sandwich shop next door. Shows are always fun, if youre in the alt or punk scene I hope you go check them out!

They are a staple of the Portland music scene but shows are often a little too loud for my tastes & pushing feedback on the PA. Be sure to bring hearing protection to have the best experience

Your typical dive bar. Local music was cool. Saw some bands from the area. Please bring earplugs to save your ears, though! Cash only entry if there's a show it seems. There's a close by ATM, in case you forget.

This place is way too small for hosting live music. Half of the booths face away from the stage. More space is taken for the merch table and the sound equipment. You're left with a space that could maybe comfortably handle like 30 people at most but it's packed with as many people as can possibly fit in the building. If you're the type to ever wonder "where am I supposed to be standing?" then you're going to have a rough time here because nowhere feels like a spot you should be standing.

My sandwich was good but that reflects more on Devil's Dill. Drinks were also fine and I didn't have issues with service other than it being hard to get service with so many other people trying to get food and drinks from the one guy serving them.

The sound was surprisingly good compared to most places I've been to.

Went for a music show, as soon as I walked in & trying to find room to squeeze near the bar, sound guy ran & shoulder checked me hard which jarred my back that has metal bars in it. Rest of the night I was in pain. First half of the "show" was a meditation, with white people "throat singing" which is racially insensitive to indigenous people. Cultural appropriation. When music performer finally arrived, sound was way too loud speakers were crackling, I had a migraine after. Unfriendly bar tender. Huge booths that are shared with drunken making out patrons. Won't be back.

The sign says Open, but the door is locked before 1 am and they ignored my attempts to enter. I guess they live up to their name.

We came here to see a show for our first time at the bar. It's a smaller more intimate bar/venue, but it was super chill. Friendly bartender, attracts a rock/grunge type of sound and it's a good place to be.

The people there were friendly, inviting, happy to be there. The bands looked like they had an alright time setting up and getting in and out. It was just a low-key easy spot to be in.

It was just nice and easy. Definitely coming back.

Parking: Easy parking on the street or off the main thoroughfare.

Bartender short poured every drink.
Great service otherwise.
I love a good dive. And this place delivered in a classy way. Except for the drinks.
Great crowd. Weak drinks and expensive for a dive. great sandwiches.
I’m sure it’s great if you’re drinking beer or a regular.
Low rating because of the expensive weaker than everywhere else drinks (for reference I’m talking barely three count pours friends)
