I’ve been eating at Nong’s for many years. But this last meal at the west side location was a complete departure from my past experiences. Firstly, they got my order wrong, so more waiting while they remade my order. I had a #3 chicken with peanut sauce. The rice was not sticky at all. It’s usually cooked to perfection. The broccoli was under cooked. I’m glad I’ve had a lot of great meals so I know they can do better.

food was okay, but def given little quantity for what you pay. I got the large and was still hungry afterwords.
Chicken and rice is life changing. Fast & friendly service, great prices and incredible food. Highly recommended! And also the Thai iced tea was delicious too

I really like Nong's but my last couple experiences have been a little off-putting.
The food is good, however the person running the counter is not very friendly. Last time was weird, as he went from laughing with the people in the back, to stone faced when he turned to me.
Also, I asked for the gluten-free option, which I know isn't truly gluten-free, but there were still a fair bit of gluten bits in my soup.
I love the shop though, and the food is usually pretty good. I'll probably try again in a couple months.

I should have ordered a small portion instead as I couldn’t finish it. Food is good, just a bit underwhelming for the reputation I have heard.

Great place to dine in. Wonderful flavor and simplicity that reminds you of a home cooked meal you reminisce about when away. 10/10

The food was amazing, the service was mediocre, and it could be better. Overall, the food would bring me back the most to this place.

Holy sh$!@ I crushed a plate of their chicken and rice plate. I never understood the hype around Hainanese chicken up until today. This dish was so simple, and yet so well executed. The photos don't do the dish justice. I hadn't even finished my meal and I was already contemplating ordering a second helping. The sauce was packed with flavor and brings the whole dish together. Honestly, it was so satisfying.
I'll for sure be coming before before leaving Portland this weekend.

The chicken was ok but wish they had a dark meat option. The beast did not have much flavor by itself. The sauce was decent.
About 8 flies buzzed around me and landed on my water cup while sitting by the window which greatly took away from the experience. If not for that, I would have been pretty satisfied.
