Amazing food. Small space with limited seating so keep that in mind if coming in with a larger group :)

Stepping into Nong’s brick-and-mortar spot is like leaving downtown Portland for another world—a world where everything revolves around incredible food. I have no idea how they produce so much magic from such a tiny space, but they do. The dishes are simple and straightforward, but the sauces? Next level. Order the pork belly with mushrooms, and know this: if I didn’t fear judgment, I’d drink the peanut sauce through a straw.

Somewhere between average and disappointing. We ordered KMG but we were not asked about skin or no skin, or if we wanted dark meat so received only pretty dry white meat with no skin. The most disappointing part was the rice, it was dry and feels like it was missing the chicken fat. The rice with KMG makes or breaks the dish and this was a big letdown. I think the only redeeming part was the sauce which was quite authentic.

Small place with few seats. Self order and serve, pretty hot inside. But food is perfect, pork dishes and chicken dishes recommended.

I went there because I was craving for real khao man gai! I did order large size with liver and everything was perfect! The people there also amazing and the food was really good! As a Thai, I approve both the quality and the quantity were amazing and true! I will be back there again for sure! Thank you so much!

The Khao Man Gai was perfect. The chicken and rice with broth were subtle, but flavorful and perfectly tender. The addition of the soy garlic ginger sauce brightens everything to create a perfect bite every time. For $15, I almost can’t imagine a better lunch in downtown Portland. The shop is hot, humid, and stuffy just like a legit Thai cafe.

Decent chicken over rice combos. Great for a quick lunch.

Food is not good at all. I don’t know why the score is so high. The wrap of the chicken salad roll tastes like plastic…

Affordable, generous portion of chicken rice. The chicken rice was a bit one note in that there was just a lot of chicken breast and lightly garlicy rice. I could have used more variety with dark meat chicken, or even chicken skin on the breast. The ginger soy sauce is good, but I also wish there was like another spicy sauce to mix things up a bit. I liked the pork knuckle a lot more as there was a lot more variety in textures and flavors.
I went here once months ago and it stuck in my brain that I needed to come back. Great prices, I wrapped up the other half of my meal. Came out so fast I barely had a moment to sit down. They are amazing at what they do! everything is flavorful and juicy, the price is reasonable

I was in Portland in May. Nong’s was strongly recommended by a local friend. Yum! Menu is simple but food is so delicious. Must try the basic staple, Khao man gai, flavorful chicken and rice! Incredible food, super friendly staff and owner. I’m returning to PDX in October and plan to dine in again.

Honestly, I love the SE location of Nong's. But each time I order from the Downtown location, I always have a bad experience. The manager comes off very rude, the food quality is inconsistent here as well, and I'm always missing something in my order. The Khao Man Gai is amazing but go to the SE location, much better quality and service.

I love Nongs . I’ve been eating at Nongs since it was a food cart downtown Portland. It’s really good food fairly priced with good quality service and I’m always feeling incredibly satisfied with my meal. I eat here probably twice a week while I’m on my lunch break and I’m never disappointed
