My 11 year old daughter really wanted teriyaki chicken and rice. Ocean Aloha didn’t disappoint! She received a large serving of Kalbi chicken and loved it. Her only complaint was that there was a lot of sauce on her meal (as other reviews have mentioned) - next time we will order the sauce on the side. All in all, friendly service, delicious food, and we didn’t have to wait long.

This is definitely not Kalua pork. It's like a fusion of Kansas BBQ, over charred meat gave the meat a very bitter taste. Mac salad was very disappointing. The gentleman serving the food was very kind and friendly but the food was very underwhelming. Just tasted burnt and unsalted. Which Kalua pork main ingredient is salt. Yes, I did mix things around in the photo to try and eat it, but I just couldn't.

Sigh… I was so excited to get some decent priced Hawaiian food after walking Portland Saturday market and stumbled upon a collection of food carts and when I saw a sweet looking guy at his food cart with no customers I wanted to support by getting a Kalua pig plate and spam musubi. It was reasonably priced at $17 for all that but something NEEDS to change in the kitchen if this place wants to stay afloat in the current restaurant climate here. The musubi was the fine just a little burnt and rice flavorless. However the plate was just so unappealing, bland and sad. The mac salad was offensive, overcooked noodles, flavorless watery mayo dressing with no carrots or onion just dry dill that isn’t usually found in Hawaiian mac salad. The kalua pig was so dry and lacked the smokey saltiness and any juice for non-existent cabbage to soak up. And the one thing I thought I could always count on the rice was overcooked and bland on its own but completely doused in an overly sweet bbq sauce that added to the inauthenticity and disappointment. Luckily a homeless man was extremely grateful for the meal nonetheless.

Chicken was burnt to the point of not being edible, Mac salad was awful. Waste of $15

It was not good at all. I ordered the shoyu chicken and the meat was so overcooked, super sugary.
I typically don’t leave food reviews as taste can often be subjective, but, when a spot gives me food poisoning I feel like that’s worth noting.
Very nice employee working there but once a place makes me sick that’s the end of the road for me.

Nasty. This is not a good representation of my native lands food. Just disgusting. That sauce that you see on the chicken katsu is ketchup. Foul.

Pretty good for the price! Big portions for me. There is a lot of sauce but it doesn’t bug me.

I normallt never eat out and I had 9 dollars to spend and I was really hoping it would be worth it. I Ordered the small kalua pork bowl, the portions were good and it would have tasted good accept for the bitter burnt taste, the rice was very sweet but it helped a little to over power burnt meat.

Cloyingly sweet and over sauced, chicken was overcooked and rice is kind of mushy. Hawaiian is always hit or miss but this is a miss for me.
