Everything about this restaurant is homely and inviting. I love that the plates aren't gargantuan sized. They feel like a nice home cooked meal and you really don't need a takeout box. The service is fast and friendly, though we showed up right at 11AM to ensure we had seating! Food was delicious, and the dessert was good. If you plan to buy any pastries, do so before you sit! We waited until after we were done eating and literally within and hour of opening, all the fruit strudel was gone. I was heartbroken because that's why I went! Well I won't be making that mistake twice! Buy it before you sit! Great place and such fun!

Food was absolutely delicious! The vegetables, schnitzel, and spatzel are all cooked to perfection.
Service is on the slower side, but that’s to be expected with two people running the restaurant. And it’s wholly made up for by Anita’s attention to detail and great demeanor. The food is definitely worth the wait, though.

Best authentic German food I've had since living in Alexandria/D.C. and the waitress convinced me to get the German chocolate cake; get it. Definitely making this place a new home for myself.

What a gem! Owned by a family of lovely people. Everything is carefully and authentically prepared but for something a little unusual and outstanding try the Herring salad and the calf liver with onions. Don't miss the baked goods on the way out.

This place feels like you've been invited to dinner at a German family's home. Good, classic, simple food and delicious sweets set out bake sale style. I don't think I've ever managed to leave without at least one plate of Anna's pastries!

This place is definitely worth a visit, I came from Dallas Texas I have eyeballed this place before but am so glad that I finally decided to stop! The dill pickle soup is good, the food is really good, it’s what to expect from and old Bavarian restaurant, I really enjoyed their dessert and will for sure return when I when the chance. Thank you for your hospitality.

Delicious food with great flavor. Somewhat small lunch portions for the price. We ate in the back room with a large group, which was very spacious - but the florescent lights make for a strange atmosphere that feels pretty dated.

Some of the best, most sincere German food I've had outside of Germany.

Spectacular, the veal schnitzel was so good. Everything tasted incredible, honest and homemade.
I’m kind of glad this gem is a little bit outside the usual Portland orbit, so Portlanders can’t ruin it haha
Can’t wait to try all the other 8 types of schnitzels

Food was top notch and authentic. Everything we ate was VERY delicious the owners are really friendly.

would highly recommend this place, The Pickle soup is amazing.
the schnitzel was excellent as was the sausage. potatoes were perfect and the sauerkraut was really good too and that is coming from someone who usually doesn't like it.

the special was also Amazing, the steelhead trout was cooked perfectly

calling in advance for a reservation is recommended this place is worth making a plan to visit well in advance

the only down side to this place is its too far away to go as often as i would like, but we will definitely be back.
