Someone recommended this resturant and very thankful for it! I didn’t know what to expect as I entered the directions and just went with it. This place is 11/10. Food, drinks, and service is a chef kiss!
I challenged our server, John, with crafting me tasty libation and he owned it. His smile and personality was icing on the cake.

We were walking by with a grumble in our bellies and caught a whiff of wonderful food. So we popped in and discovered a very fine Caesar Salad and super good personal pizza. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, with crunchy croutons the dressing was perfect. Our pizzas were very tasty. Plus the the way the food was presented and plated was artistic. A fine lunch on an awesome spring day.

I'm from Chicago and have eaten a lot of deep dish pizzas. Lou Malnatis is my favorite, followed by Gino's East, Giordano's is the worst. The Star reminds me of Gino's East style and taste. If you're looking for an excellent pizza, that is true to a Chicago style deep dish, then I highly recommend The Star. Sauce has big chunks of tomatoes, excellent balance of flavor. Toppings aren't exactly like I'd find in Chicago, what with this being the West coast, but the sausage is spot on and delicious. Other toppings like balsamic glaze, roasted garlic, and mozzarella are all delicious and add depth of flavor.

Went with a group of about 30 ppl and we received great service. Food was delicious we had various appetizers and many pizzas all were delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed it and said they would return!

Wow how disappointing. We ordered a small thin crust with pepperoni and it was almost inedible. Its had zero seasoning and the tomato sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. The crust was so hard you couldn't not bite in to it without breaking a tooth. The crazy thing is there deep dish very good depending on who is in the kitchen making them. We'll I guess I learned a valuable lesson and with not repeat this mistake on the future.

My first time having a deep-dish pizza & it was divine! Love that, The Star has vegan options for deep dish pizza. The sauce makes the pizza & did not disappoint me at all. The garlic cheesy breadsticks weren't for me since they weren't vegan but my friends said they were extremely pillowy & the right amount of garlic!
Asked to have the food boxed that was most of the food was told they don't do that. But if you get take out of course it is boxed. So they preferred to throw it out. Never coming back.

I've only been here once so far, so I really can't say too much, but I did like it! I was in the mood for deep dish pizza, and this was right beside where I work, so it was the obvious choice. Thankfully the food was quite good! I'm only giving the service a three because it did take me quite some time to get attended to, although that was because I'm pretty sure they were understaffed. I worked in a restaurant before, so I wasn't mad at all; I know what it feels like to serve a moderate or even a large crowd while understaffed: it sucks. 😆 Regardless, I have a strong suspicion that I'll return, because the food was good, and there's also a surprisingly large array of options!
