Pizza was excellent, I had a glass of sangria that was very good. Our server was very attentive although he was swamped! Great experience.
Good pizza dough options. Service great. Overall overpriced

Unreal Detroit pizza. Great service and free coke refills. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday afternoon but still a great vibe

We used The Star PDX for our wedding rehearsal dinner in June 2025. We had about 30 guests. We worked with DJ, the manager, to prepare our menu months in advance. She was so easy to work with and accommodated all of our event needs, including dietary restrictions like lactose intolerance. We had one assigned server, John, who was fabulous. He was so attentive to our party and made sure all the food and drink came out timely with no issues. Not to mention: the deep dish pizza is SO excellent. Our menu items that we strongly recommend: the burrata crostini appetizer, caesar salad, and Little Star deep dish pizza. Plus the tiramisu was delicious! If you need to throw a large event, or just want great deep dish pizza, The Star is now in our favorite Portland restaurant rotation.

the Star is delicious! Pizzas in several forms but we tried all 3 that night - the Chicago, The Detroit and the thin crust. also stellar was the supa garlicky Caesar with crispy crunchity croutons and the cheesy garlic bread on Detroit style bread. yummers! great seating for groups , couples or small parties. nice golden lighting and big picture windows.
Food was good. But after we were served, no more visits until we were done and ready to go. Never checked on a refill of Diet Coke. Never asked if we wanted another beer until we were done. Which we would have gotten. Just really ignored by waiter. And it was not like the place was packed to the gills.
Everything seems to be hand made and fresh. It is really a must try if your visiting portland

Food was delicious, atmosphere mid afternoon was nice and not too busy, and the lunch special is a deal! Only thing was gnats were congregating and one got in my food despite my shooing away. But look at this gorgeous mixed side salad! I can pick out a gnat. 😂

Love this place. The Chicago style pizza is legit stuff, as good as I had in my old days when I lived in Chicago. Other pizza styels are also fantastic and the mocktails are a favorite for my kids, if a bit pricey.
