I bread is so good
I've only tried there Rustic French. And let me tell you, it is the best bread in the entire world. Amazing
Have had the French Rustic bread recently, and the taste was delicious. To us, it was closer to sourdough, tangy and a great texture, and we made grilled cheese and panini Ruben sandwiches - perfectly fantastic! Their Cranberry Ciabatta and soft cheesy breadsticks - 90 seconds in the air fryer - are also a real treat. Probably the best breadsticks we've ever had, especially toasty hot out of the air fryer with a little butter and raspberry jam!If you can't find them at your local store, you can always find them fresh at the bakery, even if it's a little bit of a drive. Really good stuff!
I haven’t been at Portland French Bakery for a whole long time, but I can tell you that this is the best bread I have ever had and I grew up in a family that made bread My father was a baker and was famous for his potato rolls. They were good, but if you want the best, Portland French Bakery.
I buy approximately one loaf of bread a week, I know holes are a part of baking the bread, but you sure do feel like you’re getting jipped. Especially when it is the most expensive bread in a huge grocery store chain where you have a lot to choose from.
Best bread on the planet! The rustic white is an everyday favorite, and the cranberry ciabatta rolls are to die for!
Honestly the best French bread you can buy in Portland metro area. There never used to have this many holes until the last couple loaves. For $8 I think there should be more “bread”.
I really debated for a long time about leaving this review. However, since the problem seemed to not be getting better I feel like people should really be aware of what they might be walking into. This relationship started great. Fresh bread, can't be beat!! Then started the shortages. Every other week our bread orders would be short. So, they TOLD ME TO ORDER EXTRA to fix the issue. So I have to pay more and order more that I don't need to Ensure I GET MY ORDER?? Then, in August, I noticed I wasn't being billed... So I called. I was told someone would call me back, and that never happened. Called AGAIN end of June/early July and left a message about it as well,. Never heard anything. Finally call and get Jon. John then informs me that due to some encryption issues I owe two months worth of bread bills. Now, while I understand that I've received this bread and have to pay for it, as a small business owner having a lump sum put on me due to an error doesn't make it Great for me. Nevertheless, I agree to start making payments and ask for a printout of what I owe and what invoices I will be paying. By this time I've also spoken to a woman named Ren who assured me she would have me the printouts and what I owe by the first Friday. Fast forward, here we are with my balance almost paid, the third week in a row that I've asked for a print out of what I'm paying, and I still don't have one with my balance almost paid off. So I just paid this large sum of money and I don't even get to know what I paid for? I have all the invoices on my end, however, it would be really really great and professional, if these guys could get the stuff together on their end. I love getting fresh bread but the level of unprofessionalism and the inconsistency along with the passing the buck... It's really almost enough to make me go somewhere else.***Note to add, since this billing adventure has started, now almost done, I've also been double billed twice and had to call them out on my end or pay an extra almost $200.
Fabulous bread products!
Tired of buy bread with really big holes inside. I guess that's another way to take advantage of your customers. Give them a big loaf withgiant pockets inside that can't be seen. The white rustic bread is great but just not worth it anymore.

I am an experienced baker of 2+ yrs and I am completely embarrassed by Portland French bakery. As a student at Lewis and Clark college we have to eat breadsticks, rolls, hotdog and hamburger buns. The hotdog buns are not cut enough. The buns are also far too large for our hamburgers and hotdogs: ruining the ratio of meat to bread and creating too many bread filled bites. I long for the day that Portland French bakery ceases to be in my life.
I love the Bread ...
Delicious
I buy their rustic whole wheat bread and white rustic and now I've tried their ciabattini rolls. It is all the best. I buy it at the grocery store, either Fred Meyers or Chucks. It's a very wonderful wholesome and hearty loaf. I buy it for the low sugar as I have had cancer and try to eat write. The Ciabttini rolls I just had were filled with cranberries. With cream cheese they are to die for and you can cut in half to make a little sandwhich. I could have eaten the whole bag. The rustic bread you put under broiling heat in oven with cheese and spinach it. This is a very special small family bakery. When I first found it years ago I thought I have found my mother's old recipe. She baked in a wood stove. Thank you to people who carry on the old traditions. Margaret in Vancouver, Ten Starssss!
