Ranger Tavern in St. Johns has an old-fashioned vibe like a tavern by the dock. Tony the cook makes delicious breakfasts with perfectly grilled Denver omelette ingredients, brown hash browns, and toasted English muffins. The staff, including Angie and the bar crew, are friendly. It's best to visit during the day as the area can be sketchy at night. But if you do stop by, you might meet the cool cat named Buddy hanging outside. The tavern offers a very warm atmosphere with friendly service, a jukebox (touchtunes), and video poker. There are also a couple of pool tables for $1 a game. The bathrooms are very clean, and the food, especially the bacon cheeseburger, is highly praised as one of the best in a long time and a great deal. The place has an older sports crowd, neon lighting, and a cozy, low-light setting. The kitchen looks clean, and the waitresses are beautiful and friendly, adding to the welcoming environment.
