I've come twice now to give this place a fair shot, the first time fairing better than the second by far. A friend recommended it, but I can't say I'm a fan. The first time we tried beef chow fun and salt and pepper squid, the beef was tender and flavorful, and the squid a little dry (a light dipping sauce would have done it well.) Both dishes seemed to be half onions, and therefore didn't make for a good combination. The second visit we tried the sesame beef and general tsos, and both were almost too salty to eat. We looked around to flag someone down but were unsuccessful and honestly too hungry to complain. Waters went unfilled and we ended up leaving with a bad taste in our mouths, literally.

Some places are more difficult to review than others. This is one. The restaurant is low decoration, and within 10 feet of Powell Blvd in a cement building. Powell is a noisy street. Powell's Seafood Restaurant had no lunch specials. Our meals came out separately. Food was not cold. I had the General Tso's Chicken. I don't think I have ever made this criticism before, but the portion size was too large. Also, the price was $20.95 which was expensive for lunch. My friend's portion size was also too large. My friend is a better eater than I am and generally there are no left-over's for him. Not at Powell's Seafood Restaurant. My food was acceptable, but his was not. The eggplant was slimy and lacking in taste. The server never checked back with us. Our consensus was that we would not return to check out other menu items.Vegetarian options: Based on what my friend had (eggplant) I could not, in good conscience, recommend their vegetarian fare. The eggplant dish was flavorless and the eggplant itself was slimy.Parking: Once their five or six parking spots fill up they direct you to park on the other side of Powell. Or you can park on the street.

I went to this restaurant for the first time, but I had a very bad experience. First, their service was too poor, without any smiles. the waiters were not friendly, and the food was not fresh. I didn't think it was worth giving a one star. I would tell all my friends not to waste money eating at this restaurant anymore.
