I like the dumpling itself but the sauce is too much vinegar. Milk tea is pretty good, pretty high quality. I don’t like the pork noodle that much … it taste a little bit off for me and the fried chicken is … hmmm dry and no taste.

I was really looking forward to trying this place. The guy wearing glasses working the front ignored us for about 20 minutes after we walked in and sat down and was pretty rude when we tried to order.

The food was all overly salty and we couldn’t finish the food even though we were all pretty hungry. Pretty disappointing experience overall.

And yes this was the N Mississippi location.

Great outdoor seating. Quick service. You order at the counter. The pork noodle dish and the large dumpling were very good! Large sizes so expect to share!

What a disappointment. I hate counter service most of all because I have to leave a tip before I’ve had a chance to evaluate the service but also because I like to be waited on when I go out to dinner. When one has to pay restaurant prices the service is part of the pleasure. I only had one dish, a dumpling that was good but not exceptional and the only wine available other than buying a whole bottle is in a can and it’s either red or white, no options. I certainly won’t be back.

First time trying out this place! We had the large dumpling, tea leaf salad and pork noodles. The food was good. It wasn’t busy at all!

As soon as you walk up to this location, you instantly smell the most delicious aroma! The outdoor and indoor space is gorgeous and the cocktail side is equally as cool! With a record player DJ booth... I mean, it doesn't get any better! If you want to try the most delectable menu items, I would suggest Fried chicken, mushroom noodles, tea leaf salad, pork ribs, mango chile margarita, the big dumpling and literally everything else on the menu! This is a Portland cuisine treasure! You and your family will not be disappointed.

This is a very special place. Every dish is perfect every time. No notes. This is hands-down my favorite place to get the best meal of your life in Portland, and this town is full of exceptional food.
Y’all deserve every bit of success.

Recommended dishes: you MUST try the shredded carrot salad and braised pork ribs. Literally life changing. Close behind are the pork noodles and large dumpling.

I can never give 5 stars to counter service only. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant concept, it's the rating system that needs changing. The food is absolutely delicious with large portions and a beautiful courtyard to enjoy it in. The tea leaf and ginger salads are divine, and the fried potatoes are the best spuds I've had in years. The chickpea tofu curry is a bit one note in both flavor and texture, but it was ok.

This place is really good, I should’ve tipped more. The service was quick and the food was excellent. I ordered the fried chicken and the sauce it came with was delicious. Also, the tamarind soda is very good. 10/10, good spot to come to in the summer.

What a pleasant find! Incredible flavors, friendly service, great portion sizes, amazing value for money.

Typically when i try foreign cuisines, a common feeling is that, some of the flavors seem to have been dialed down or rounded out by the chef, perhaps to make it more suitable for the local palate. Such an experience usually leaves a tiny void, that gnaws at the back of my head, yearning for fulfillment, despite everything else being great. Rangoon Bistro did not leave that void unfulfilled.

Their flavors were bombastic! They didn't seem to leave a stone unturned and truly seemed to showcase the authenticity of sharper flavors where the dishes needed it. Heat, acid and salt were liberally used, but all in a well balanced way.

The Mala Aloos were a great savory appetizer, perfectly seasoned with salt and heat to start our journey, armed with a mason jar of tamarind soda. I wish the tamarind soda packed more punch, with a higher intensity of tamarind and maybe with a salted rim or just some spiced salt on top. I must add that despite the feedback, the tamarind soda was thoroughly enjoyed by myself and my friends.

In the case of Wat Nanyoe, the pork sparerib dish, served atop perfectly cooked Jasmine rice, soaked in the most delicious hot and sour summer time broth, the authenticity and harmony of their flavorings really shone through, with each intense flavor peaking on its own tempo, during the devouring of the broth soaked rice. The ribs were of course fall-off-the-bone and very juicy.

Coming to Shan Khao Swe, the pork noodle dish, this captured my heart. While this unassuming bowl of savory brown noodles, covered by a layer of shredded pork and crushed peanuts, had milder peaks than Wat Nanyoe, it had an incredible balance of umami, which immediately made it my favorite. The noodles and the pork were perfectly cooked and the variety of textures really complimented the flavors of this dish.

My friends enjoyed their fried chicken dishes and beef and potato curry dishes as well. For the price, i was very pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. My stomach and my heart were both full by the end of the meal. While i did not take any prisoners, ermm i mean leftovers, all the rest of my companions did, despite ordering 1 entree per head and only 1 Mala Aloo for the table of 7 people.

Service was prompt and friendly throughout. Ordering had to be done at the counter, but the food, plates, cutlery, napkins, water and drinks were all brought to the table. Common restrooms are available behind a secured gate 2 doors down, whose code is available just by asking.

I would definitely return to try the Thokes and the other dishes next time. Seems like they have a rotating menu, so i need to be back before the next change. I would also love to see what they have in store for us at Bone Sine, which is opening right next door.

For a night where our initial plans fell through and we stumbled upon this place, this was an incredible find and I cannot wait to be back.

10/10! Tea leaf salad is why we came and it definitely did not disappoint BUT… the dumpling was the show stopper. Perfect to share and so many flavors.

Shared a bunch of dishes with friends. The fried chicken was perfect. The mushroom noodles had so much flavor. The ribs fell off the bone. Staff were great and took care of us.

Truly a unique experience. I was unaware of Burma's (Myanmar) geographical local and treasures. The influence of SE Aisa, China and Bangladesh make for an eclectic menu, of which much is gluten free by result. Their fried chicken is carefully bribed and marinated in an array of spices and fried to perfections. Just a light dusting of rice flour is all that is needed for such a satisfying crunch. The rice dumpling (GF) was so savory and satisfying. The vinegar and umami hits from the the fish sauce did wonders. The staff is passionate and the chefs are very approachable (when not busy). We talked food for quite some time. A must try for anyone looking for a unique array of menu options. Oh, their cocktails are also carefully crafted and executed to perfection.
