Feels like I’m going back in time to the sit down Mexican restaurants of the Pacific Northwest 90s. Obviously some nostalgia bias. Food is kind of expensive but unlike my childhood in Gresham and Loyd center it’s pretty good. Owner is super friendly, staff are attentive, just a nice relaxed environment. Place is active but never so
busy it’s annoying.

having lived in both Houston and San Diego, I feel like I'm qualified to both assess and rate Mexican food for its quality and authenticity.
Rocio's gets very high marks in my book.
we're not in Portland often, but we will definitely make it a point to stop by here on every trip.

The new owners rescued this place. Somehow it ended up in corporate hands and all the food turned to trash. Thankfully a local purveyor came by and saved this neighborhood spot and improved every dish on the menu. It’s now one the regular places we frequent on rotation.

Better than average Mexican food, but also a bit pricey (though it was filling). It was enjoyable but I’m not sure if I would necessarily recommend it. Nothing to rave about. Definitely look at the menu and prices before you go.

Excellent food and atmosphere. This was our first time here and we loved it. The owner was kind and attentive. Go!
I love that they have vegan cheese options, including a really good quesadilla which is easily a couple meals worth. And omg vegan fried ice cream!!!! The mangonada is fabulous. Salsa is interesting and smoky. Chips are fresh and good. Booths and chairs are ... Firm.

Not as fresh as previous visits. Enchiladas were not hot and burrito had way too mcuh rice vs meat. Nice service always!

Rocio's is our favorite restaurant in all of Portland. We love Kenny and his great staff, the margaritas are awesome, and the food incredible! It's our go-to!

So, you should come here. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The service was exceptional, and the staff is incredibly friendly. Kenny made us delicious Mexican Candy shots, too! The vibe is cozy and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

Rocio’s food is all delicious. I’m a big fan of the cheese queso on the nachos. The meats are seasoned and great. And if you tip nicely, they may even throw in something extra now and then.
I love the location and vibe here. The service is good and the staff is friendly. The house/fresh margarita is my go to. The chips and salsa is great. While most of the food I’ve tried is good some items like the shredded beef and the steak fajitas (previous visit) are bland.
Great Mexican food! Im from the south, so this place was absolutely point with authentic flavors 😋
