Yoko's Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar is an excellent sushi spot in Portland, considered by some to be the best sushi in Portland, Oregon. The food is absolutely some of the freshest, most delicious food, with fish that is always fresh and delicious. The rolls are clever and great combinations, and particular highlights include the tuna and the tuna crispy rice. The seaweed and cucumber salad also looks very good. Portions are on par with a typical sushi restaurant, and the attention to detail and flavorful garnishes make the difference. Their house brand Sake is a favorite.
The place is nice and cozy, and service is generally fast and friendly, with fun and friendly staff, though the waitstaff can sometimes be a little slow and forgetful. There can be a bit of a wait for a table, which is worth it for the amazing food, but the wait time could be shorter with better hosting. The restaurant is served family style. It is definitely worth the wait and very yummy, a recommended stop for anyone craving quality sushi in PDX.
