One of my favorite coffee shops in Portland. Always a pleasure. Love to find little gifts there too

I was impressed with the spaciousness, comfortable atmosphere, and friendly quick service. Oh yeah, and the BIG thing: THEY'RE OPEN UNTIL 11! None of that 3 or 4pm closing nonsense. A great evening coffee hangout spot, a few short blocks up from the Aladdin Theater in Brooklyn. Nice pastries and a variety of drinks. Only had one specialty coffee, something lavender, but I will be back to sample more.

Great live music on a Satuday morning. How great is that for those of us who don't go out at night much! And the California bagels and hot chocolate were delicious and the service was cheerful! . This is a great little steam punk vibe place tucked away in the Brooklyn neighborhood which has changed and evolved and survived over the years. Lots of people were working , visiting, variety of generations represented. How fun . Thanks Rose City Coffee!

Employees were very kind and welcoming, the cafe was clean and was a pleasant place to work on some homework. There aren't many spaces to get stuff done late into the evening hours, so this was perfect!
I had the pesto club and a purple haze latte, both were very enjoyable!

I cannot overstate how lovely this coffee shop is! The vibes are excellent. There are fantastic trinkets and stickers. The BLT is my favorite sandwich on their menu.

I’ve been coming here for years and every experience is phenomenal. The staff are incredibly welcoming and make sure that every customer feels cared for. The food menu is small but well executed - big fan of the pesto club sandwich! Great place to hang out and work or meet friends.

Mid-Coffee Shop - Nothing Special
I recently stopped by a local coffee shop that seemed to have a decent reputation, but after trying it, I can’t say it lived up to the hype. I probably took two sips of my pumpkin pie latte and then threw it away. My fiancé got a piping hot Earl Grey tea which caused the tea to taste bitter. We completely wasted our money.
The ambiance was probably the best thing about it with many cool stickers, pins, cards, etc.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Portland. Their coffee is always good, breakfast sandwiches are always fresh, and tchotchkes are always on point. Many a day was spent studying in this place while I was in medical school, as their hours are long and there’s plenty of seating. They also have Okapi reusable cups, which is a huge plus, and everyone that works here is so friendly and upbeat.

I had a really disappointing experience at Rose City Coffee. I was sitting and enjoying my $7 latte, just minding my own business, when a manager suddenly came over to my table and started talking to me about being "disrespectful" to other customers. I was completely caught off guard, as I had no idea what they were referring to and wasn’t given any clear explanation.
The whole interaction felt incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional. As a paying customer, I expected a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, but instead, I was put on the spot in a way that felt inappropriate and unnecessary. If there was a genuine issue, it could have been handled with more tact and professionalism. Definitely not the kind of experience I’d expect when paying premium prices for coffee. Won’t be coming back.

Great studying environment!
But I had a very bad cappuccino. The vegan sandwich was okay. I could tell they used fresh ingredients.
