I usually enjoy coming to Pizza Smizza for a bite and a drink, but my recent experience today 8/15/2025 in the video poker lounge was really disappointing. There was a homeless person camped out, hogging two machines, being loud and irate, and making the atmosphere uncomfortable for everyone else in the room. After a while, I asked the waitress if she could help address the situation, but instead of showing any concern, she came across as rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping.
What really bothered me was the lack of professionalism rather than trying to resolve the issue or at least acknowledge my concern, it felt like I was being brushed off. I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect a minimum level of courtesy and customer service when I choose to spend my time and money somewhere. Sadly, this visit left a bad taste in my mouth, and it really made me question whether I’ll be back again anytime soon.

The pizza is fine and all, but service is very inconsistent.
They allow people to bring their dogs inside even though they serve food. I even saw someone bring three dogs in and the bartender pet them, then go back to serving food without handwashing.

Ordered Schmizza for delivery to have for dinner back at our hotel the other night. We all throughly enjoyed the pizza style and the taste. Would highly recommend!

The women that work here are rude ‘pick me’ type girls.

This location is absolutely amazing. The staff are all friendly, welcoming, and extremely attentive to their customers. I felt like I had been a regular of years by my second visit. The managers and their employees are all awesome and made me feel instantly welcome. I'll be coming back. Keep it up!

Came in today for a bev after work and was greeted warmly and treated very well by Brandon and keiali, great stuff, but the price of a tall boy is too high to be worth it at all, pabst and Coors on tap during happy hour are decent deals

This is a special place. The staff is caring, efficient, and detailed. It's my favorite place downtown whether I'm going to a show, an event at the waterfront, or just a cold beer and a slice. Brandon is one of the best bartenders I have seen, and I'm a service industry brat, but if you come in when Alex is working watch out for the charm. Great pizza, great beer list, and sports on the screens. Low key, the Hero sandwich is dope.

Been coming here ever since I moved downtown. Not only is the location great and the food yummy, but it’s a great place to hang out after a long day of work.

What really sets this place apart is the staff—they’re friendly, welcoming, and genuinely make you feel at home. It’s the kind of spot where you walk in and they remember your order, ask about your day, and somehow always keep the good energy flowing. The pizza and drinks are great, but it’s the people that keep me coming back. Highly recommend.

Terrible Bartender!
Came in the other day and I have no idea how the bartender wearing a black hat with the upside down LA logo got hired.

This bartender should not be in this line of work. He’s rude, dismissive, and acts like serving customers is a burden. Unless you're one of his regulars, don’t expect any decent service. He completely ignores other guests while engaging in long, loud, and often inappropriate conversations that make everyone around uncomfortable. His attitude is unwelcoming, and he clearly has no interest in doing his job professionally. I left feeling irritated and unwelcome. If management cares about customer experience, they need to seriously reconsider who they’re putting behind the bar.

Also, the pizza wasn't cooked all the way.
Overall, terrible experience.

Ok, was looking for a place for dinner and was excited to see this one nearby. Was going to walk and dine in but after reading the reviews, not going. Their bad reviews just cost them a dinner and a few drinks. Thank you reviews. Good luck Schmizza Pub & Grub

I’m not sure what the recent Google review drama has been about, but I wanted to share my experience from a recent visit to this location. When we first walked in, we made direct eye contact with the man behind the bar (after reading other reviews i believe his name is brandon ), but we weren’t greeted or acknowledged—we had to walk up to the bar to place our order. The overall ordering experience felt a bit awkward—partly because it was very difficult to hear, and we had to speak quite loudly to be understood because he kept walking away.

We placed our full order around 5:10 PM. By 6:05 PM, we still hadn’t received our food, so we moved to a table closer to the front. Shortly after that, our order was finally brought out, but unfortunately, it was barely warmer than room temperature.

We ended up being there for nearly an hour, and the long wait combined with the lukewarm food made for a disappointing experience overall. Not to mention this was also just a take out order...
