The tonkatsu ramen is simply the best. Only one suggestion: I wish this restaurant played Japanese music in the background as opposed to modern music. I think it would add a pleasant flavor to the authentic Japanese experience.

Clean vibes but too pricy. They are serving two sushi rolls in one plate instead of using two.

First time for me, but my brother and his wife have been coming to SHO for years. Great food and service. We had a couple sushi dishes, 2 bowls of ramen, curry, and some appetizers (skewers). All were great. When I come again, I will probably skip the cocktails and have a couple beers instead.

An exquisite Japanese restaurant where it’s so easy to feel at home, surrounded by warmth and comfort. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful—quiet, cozy, and intimate. The waitress’s caring attention feels so genuine and rare. I truly felt as if I were in Japan, a place I love deeply. The food is exceptionally delicious and extraordinarily fresh. I enjoyed the fatty hamachi sashimi with yuzu chili sauce and the sake sashimi. Everything was simply beyond my expectations. I will definitely be back again and again. ❤️

Good, not great for a 4.5-star spot.
Sushi and salmon hand roll were fresh and well-made. Katsu curry was crispy but the sauce felt one-note. Udon broth lacked depth; agedashi tofu sauce was alright. Friendly service and casual vibe, but details and flavors need tightening. Overall: solid for a sushi fix, but I’d peg it at 3.8–4.0/5 rather than 4.5.

Food was good…enjoyed the various sushi we tried. The pork tonkatsu was ok. I’ve had better. Service was fast even though they were quite busy. We had to sit at the bar because there was no seating on a Sunday night unless you had a reservation. I would try it again.

SUPER SAD SASHIMI

I really really really want to like Koji and have given it several chances even though my husband is firm it is mediocre at best. Koji makes many of their items “in house” and I appreciate housemade grub so much. Unfortunately, I think most of their dishes are overpriced and not executed properly.

A toddler could’ve cut the fish better than whoever cut mine on the evening of 9/25. Sashimi (and sushi for that matter) is supposed to be delicate and definitely not a thick chunk of fish. $12 and $13 for the “sashimi” pictured below is a bonafide rip-off.

I love me a good karaage and was looking forward to their garlicky version. They nailed the fry and chicken was super moist. I’m still puzzled on how it was flavorless, though. Meaning there was no seasoning and definitely not even a faint whiff of garlic. Very disappointing.

The sunomono salad with crab was pretty mid. It barely had any cucumbers in it, but did have ample cheap crab.

$50 for the meal pictured in the photos is ludicrous.

This place is a gem ! Whatever I have ordered on the menu is done with great care and is delicious ! I recommend the Seafood Dynamite and the Saba Nitsuke ! Great Sake menu ! The staff is very friendly ! You feel like at home. It’s also very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this place !

Always delicious. The food looks like an artist plated it. The staff is always friendly.

Delicious and fresh sushi with great presentation! I ordered the tuna nigiri, a spicy tuna roll, tempura, and seaweed salad. Everything tasted extremely fresh and flavorful but the nigiri stood out. The ratio of tuna to rice was very generous and the fish tasted very buttery and luxurious. It made me want to order more but I was too full. Also, appreciated that they put wasabi under the fish the traditional way. The restaurant itself was very pretty and felt very clean. Near closing, almost every surface was meticulously sanitized. Each dish, even the matcha ice cream, which wasn’t too sweet, was served in beautiful pottery. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I couldn’t recommend it more! I can’t see anyone being disappointed!

They may have been short staffed that night but I waited 45 min for 3 rolls. Food was great as usual though.

Was just told they won’t serve us because they want to close early, even though it is only 8:15 and they close at 9 - when 9PM is entirely too early for a place to close anyway! Tired of restaurants doing this, if you are going to post hours you should honor them. If you plan to go to Sho, make sure you call to see if they are actually going to be a restaurant that day! The food here is mediocre anyway, plenty of other good sushi in town.

I hadn’t been here in about a year but decided to come back with my husband because we were tired and looking for local sushi. Wow! They have really stepped up their game! The menu was reprinted so instead of needing to flip through tons of pages, it’s just a standard two sided menu - way better, especially to compare items. We ordered miso soup, fatty hamachi sashimi, two spicy tuna rolls, ikura, nigiri, a yaki beef skewer… it was all amazing. The quality of the fish was insanely fresh and beautifully prepared. We will definitely be back.
