A Local Treasure!Great outdoor area for your pup. Just don't take them through the bar (designated entrance along the fence). Along with your pup bring your friends and enjoy the nice fire pit areas while enjoying the local brews and ciders. I love the music (live and on vinyl). Stop in after your hike and enjoy some good food and a cold one.

Please don't come here. It's a best kept secret and one of my favorite things in Portland. There's nothing like it and I visit every change I get.

Had a Skip Dog - great brat and an amazing Grand Central bun with a generous disbursal off kraut! Well done! Great beer stop!

Rustic and old Portland-y, this place has a lot more heart than window dressing. Summer is the time to experience the place, as there is ample outdoor seating and usually someone strumming or drumming outside.

I used to stop in here often but then I got on a healthy lifestyle kick a while back and beer was an early casualty. This place has been here forever. At least 40 years. I'm guessing a lot longer than that. It was never a "biker bar" although it was pretty popular with really hard core, old school Bikers such as myself. It was also never a dive bar but it was close. Pretty inexpensive draught beer. A blue collar, people who work for a living type clientele. Handy to home, out on Skyline which used to be the boonies before the Californians started showing up. Now it's surrounded by multi-million dollar homes so I suppose greasy Bikers like myself don't fit in as well there as we once did. Nice, huge back patio and yard where you can enjoy a brew while watching the sunset on a warm Summer night. Way back when you could head down the street for an ice cream. That place has been boarded up for eons. So stopped in recently "just because". They now serve food which was a major complain with the "old" Skyline Tavern. Once the Sykline Restaurant closed for the evening it was a looooong way to the closest restaurant. This place is still ok.... better than "ok" (four stars) but it's different than it used to be. In some ways, better different. In other ways not so much. Time marches on....

Always a good time, great outdoor seating when the weather is good. Check out what band is playing that night!

Being 2 of the 8 people there and 2 of which were working we got great service! I love how out in the banjo playing woods this place seems, yet it is a few curves of driving awesomeness away from Portland. Good selection of beer and great service! I will be back for some food in the not too distant future!

This place is true- Pacific Northwest! My husband and I have started coming here, approximately once a week since late November. We have participated with the "Trail Run Tuesday" runs with the Misfits or also known as the Wildwood Wayfarers. See* Skyline Tavern project's website for more information on these weekly trail run's, or find the Strava Club/Group's page online. The weekly runs are the highlight of my weeknights, we bundle up in reasonably warm running clothes to take on the blustery NW-winter weather and we run and slide around in the mud for about an hour in the dark, and then bundle up into warm and dry clothes and go inside the Pub for some warm food and cold beer. (Our favorite food item is the GRETA GARBOWL- rice, beans, salsa deliciousness!) As a bonus, the tavern hosts the club and graciously gives the group 2 pitchers of beer for us to imbibe after the run! The vibe is very welcoming, I've already learned Margot and Clara's names on the staff who are very friendly, approachable and fast! And, as a lot of reviewers have mentioned this place does have a very rustic vibe, similar to a wood cabin in the mountains. It is charming, and I love the wildlife- camera on Loop, it is very entertaining to watch and adds to the great ambience. My experiences in the past couple of months are just based on the main-bar area inside. I am looking forward to exploring the TABLE TENNIS and other games they have in the appendix area in the next couple of months as well as the Outdoor- patio will be even MORE amazing and epic in the summer!

Perfect place to watch a sunset. :) They have non alcoholic options like kombucha, too!

We love this place, but it's such a bummer that they don't allow minors. Now that we have a baby I guess we can't go anymore .
